Window Switch Lights - Interesting

On the way home last night, I thought I had a problem. Only the driver's window button was lit. I looked at the passenger side and rear buttons and they were all out too. I thought it strange that all the lights would be on the same circuit but they are. After fiddling around with the switches a while it occurred to me that maybe they turn off with the window button lock out feature. Sure enough, turn the lock out feature "back on" and they light again. Neat feature.

Although I do think it's strange that the DRIVER'S controls are locked out when that button is pushed too. I'm sure it's been discussed before, but I'd perfer the driver's buttons to always be active.

Right. The driver side switch should be always ON for all controls.

Always on

The drivers switch should always be able to control all the windows even with the lock-out on. The lights go out just to indicate that it is on.

Nope, when the windows are locked, only the driver's window works. That's just how Japanese cars work. It's kind of stupid, I know, but my RX-7 has a lock function too. This effectively locks the passenger side window. Kind of a useless button on that car, if you ask me.
