Window safety feature - funny story
So when I was making my decision between an Accord or TL, the salesmen at the Honda dealership showed me how the windows have this safety feature that if the window senses an object, like fingers, it will automatically roll down. He tested this as well with his hand, I thought that was a good feature. So I ended up getting the TL. Last night I was showing my wife how the TL has this safety feature, so I put my finger in between the driver side window and put the window up, wouldn't you know that the TL doesn't have this feature and my finger hurt like a mother f'er So the lesson learned here, RTFM and don't assume that if the feature is on one car it will be on the other. My finger still hurts a bit, but we got a good laugh out of it.

It has the feature, but it must be a little less sensitive than the Honda.
This came up last year, so I wisely tested it with a newspaper rolled up and it worked, but it left a big dent in the newspaper.
So it works but not as well as it should. Imagine if a small child was looking out the window when it closed on the child's neck. I think there might be serious injury there.

Ahh, that would be the smart move, using a newspaper. The Accord is much more sensative. Imagine that mark on the newspaper being your finger, it hurt just a little and boy did I feel like an ass.

Our salesman demonstrated this with the sunroof and I tried to replicate it with my hand and it didn't work at first and I got scared and took my hand away.

It Only Works If you do the Auto Close Where you just pull the button up and it closes on its own. I Tried with a water bottle and the window came back down, but when I Manually Closed the window by holding the button in the close position.....It Crunched the water bottle!

i tested this with my hands before and it works. it takes a good amount of resistance for the feature to activate. it states in the manual that it has this feature as well.

Years ago I dated a girl who ws a big dog lover and her dog always rode with us. I had a '72 Cadillac Coupe DeVille and one day we were driving down the road when all of the sudden the dog began thrashing around in the back seat. I turned around and the dog had it's head out the window and it paw on the window up switch catching it by the neck. I lughed my ass off....she didn't think it was very funny though. The Cadillac's didn't have this feature back in 72.
Anyway, back to your regularly scheduled program. This thread just reminded me of that story.
