Window lock function should NOT disable driver's side!
Window lock function should NOT disable driver's side!
Per the manual, the window lock switch should not disable the driver's side window! (p98) Has anyone heard anything about this bug being fixed in a future firmware upgrade or something to the car's computer?
I tried it a few days ago.
Apparently, the window lock button disables all windows EXCEPT the driver's side window via passenger controls as well as driver controls.
In other words, window lock button does NOT disable the driver-side window. At least, mine doesn't.

In my F150 the drivers lock is even one up on that, well at least I think so. When I lock all the windows, whats cool is that the driverside controls can still operate all the others while they are locked out for the passingers.
While you might not think this is much of anything, It proves very useful if you have a small child who plays with the buttons.
This is the only vehicle I ever came across which does this.

Our Honda Odyssey does the same thing, only I never noticed because the only passenger controlled windows are in front.
I agree the way the Ford handles it is better; I didn't expect that I couldn't lock my kids out and then raise the window they had lowered.
Honda needs to rethink this one, IMO, but lest someone think I'm whining, I still love my TL despite this.

I thought there were some complaints of this on the forum -- namely, when they locked their windows everyone's got locked, including the driver's side.So you're saying that when you lock it, everyone's is locked except for yours on the driver side? (Including the passenger controls, or just your controls?)
When the window lock button is pressed....
The rear windows get locked, as does the passenger window.
The driver's window continues to operate normally.
NOTE. With the locked windows, the driver cannot operate them either - they are completely locked.
The complaint appears to be that when the windows are locked, then the driver should still have control over the windows (god mode) but doesn't.

Yep, in the "old days" of American luxo yachts (think Cadillac circa 1975) the "windows lock" switch disabled all the passenger window switches. The driver still could open and close any window from the driver's controls. That is how the function should work. Sounds like that's NOT how it works in the TL.

There is pretty much a line....American cars (Ford, GM, Chrysler) will allow operation of all windows with the lock on (from the driver's panel) Japanese cars (even ones made here) don't allow this. It annoys the !#@$%#$ out of me.
Yep, my daughter and I faught this out yesterday!! I couldn't get her window up, cuz If I'm trying to put it up and she's pushing down, she wins. Locking doesnt' work... we're both locked out.
My Jeep works the way it should. I win when we have the window switch wars...

Only reason I can see this being a plus is lets say you have a child in the car who you dont want out the window or operating...
THis prevents you from accidentally opening their window when feeling for the buttons
Howeverm I would prefer it work like Norse said.. how come his is different!
