Huh? Huh?
C"Mon. I know there's gotta be some of you fellow 3G TL dingleberries out there testing your wits today in our 1st real snowstorm of the year so you can come back here and rave about your tires and/or the VSA.

Not me, and not with the TL.
I'll be driving the Corolla tomorrow if I end up going into work.
The TL probably won't be driven 'til the roads are completely clear.
Stay safe!

I actually just put the Avon 550 AS on my 6MT on Thursday, was hoping to go check it out later, but we'll see it's pretty awful out right now. Anything has gotta be better than those Falken's in the snow.

I live in the southeast (about 35 - 40 miles from Washington, D.C. in Virginia) and we have 11 inches of snow where I live. While not a lot, my TL doesn't even see 2 inches of snow. That's a primary reason I have my 2001 Ford Ranger truck. Reliable, dependable, and it helps protect my TL which lives in my garage on days like this. Not worried about my own driving since I've lived here all my life, but accidents do happen from and for whatever reason in weather like this. My car's more important than any inconvenience I might perceive.

I'm in GA and I want snow, too! All we get are flurries. Too bad.. I'd use my TL like a snow plow first chance I got. I see no point in driving a beater to "protect" a more expensive car. I'd rather have that more expensive car (that will depreciate regardless) protect me with it's safety features!

That statement does not carry much weight when you're driving in 18-24" of the white stuff!!!!!! Even the snow plows weren't out on some of the roads. Do they have snow plows in the fine state of Georgia?

I decided to go out and check on work to make sure it was still there, it was lol. New Avon 550 AS handled so much better than the Falkens, I could actually do 30 w/o spinning out!! The roads were plowed so i was only driving in about 2-3" at the most, handled fine, not as well as my 00 SSEi though VSA was flashing for most of the ride. I didn't dare try any deeper snow though.

I'm out... as in fold, withdraw, no frikin way (am I going out in this). Even with Blizzaks on, I'm no match for this.
I don't think I could make it 50 feet without packing so much snow under the car that all 4 tires would be off the ground. Just not worth getting stuck somwhere. (I can just see all the scratches all over the trunk lid from when people would try and push)
The snow was 5 inches over my snow thrower and it is 8hp / 24 cut".

I just cleaned mine off, but I dont have the heart to take it out into the street right now...The roads are still bad, and the snow has just started tapering off...
I turned it on though, and warmed it up a little...for no reason really, just for my satisfaction ahahah

God, you pansies. You New Yorkers (and I only mean the metro here) don't know jack about snowstorms.
Try driving in a good old-fashioned east-side Cleveland area lake-effect snowstorm that just won't quit. 11 inches? HAH! We eat that crap for breakfast. My TL has seen this stuff and laughed (when the tires aren't spinning )
Seriously, I hope you and yours are safe.

I picked my son up at work last night at about 11:30 pm.
The snow was about 8 inches deep and they had not plowed yet.
I did ok with the stability control off, with it on the car would not move.
I had some fun doing front wheel burnouts, testing out the abs, sliding around turns, etc. This morning it was at about 14 inches and i took the all wheel drive work van for coffee, goes like its dry out, but it dont stop or turn very well!

it was sooo fun driving...I worked valet last nite and all i can tell you is that the FWD cars ripped through the snow. RWD, AWD had problems.. i was suprised a 330xi was slipping and sliding while a guy with an altima drove through without a problem. It was quite fun i gotta tell ya : ]

Aaaarrrggghhhh!
- Drove snowblower by TL in garage
- Blew driveway and walkways
- Parked snowblower next to TL in garage
- Got in Jeep
- Went to store
- Got home and the TL still looked gorgeous in the garage with no salt/snow on her
- I think the TL was secretly smiling and laughing at the Jeep while being pampered in the garage..
I guess the answer to the thread's question is "NO".

Haha. I ventured out with the boyfriend (tzakiel) last night (when the storm was really bad - he lives out in odenton) to try to get some starbucks. We're a crazy couple!! We brushed the snow off and we went out to test out the VSA.
Pretty fun! He's got 18" rims and summer tires (?). Crazy. Hehe.

I sticked with my dads Mercedes SUV... i dont trust 2 wheel drive in snow... its a little embaressing when you get stuck and the guy with the audi all wheel drive blows past you so i decided to go all wheel drive too... plus i have 18inch chrome rims that would die when they see snow and salt...
PS: Doin donuts in a 4x4 is a lot more fun because the car does 360's in one place like a 15 foot by 15foot area...

I drove the Murano (SL AWD) out into the mess yesterday morning and was VERY surprised at how well it can accelerate through those conditions. That said, it was plenty tail happy while turning corners (read: oversteer).
That said, it felt MUCH better in the snow that my 00 Quest EVER felt. (I've never driven my 02 Maxima in the snow but I can imagine that it'd be a major ordeal. )

btw, TL handled this weather like a champ(this is coming from a guy that used to own an Audi).

I had my baby parked in the garage this weekend. I kicked my Dad's 2001 TL type S out and stuck mine inside. The drive to work this morning was fine. Had to take VSA off to really get around but really had no probs.

I am going out now to CVS in the TL so we will see. Roads are beginning to clear though. Im at school in MA.
From my dorm windows you can see the parking lot and some senior took his new Audi in the lot and did some doughnuts and crashed into a tree and boy was that car F**KED up.
