Who got there windows tinted and....

Just wanted to know who got there windows tinted and had the problem with them getting scratched? If so, did this problem occur right away, meaning the first couple of times you opened your windows the tint got scratched?? Or did it take a while? Also, who hasnt had a problem at all with there tint getting scratched?

I just got my windows tinted, I have opened and closed the windows maybe 10X so far, and nothing yet!! Just hoping, that if it hasnt happened it, that it will stay that way!

Anybody from Jersey got tinted? I have often heard that only the back and back sides can be tinted. If there any legal % that can be done on the driver and passenger windows. What is the fine like if stopped?

Your not allowed to put anything on driver and passenger side. I got 35% all around, and dont care about the cops! Only concer I have is passing inspection, but thats not till 2008, so doesnt matter. The fine i believe is like $40, but only an ass of a cop will pull you over for it!!

Mine happened the third time I rolled the windows up/down from the time I got them tinted. The scratches are very subtle and you really have to look at the windows at a certain angle to notice it, therefore I'm not gunna risk disassembling the doorpanels to get at the wipers blades to install moleskin and risk having four doors w/ rattles and what not from taking the door apart.

I had deep scratches. i don't know how many times until scratching, but it did take a while beofre I noticed. Anyway, i had them retinted. they took off the door panels originally when doing the install and for the redo. No door rattles. Taking off a door is relatively simple, I wouldn't worry.

FYI, originally the tinter on put the felt on the top wiper, not the bottom, so apparently it is the bottom wiper that scratched my windows. I am yet to open them with the felt on both wipers. i'll probally do that today. It's been a week since my retint. Hopefully, they won't scratch!
