So I pull in to my townhome parking lot and notice that my neighbor has just purchased an 04 Blue Auto TL. I have an NBP. Is this normal? At least she does not have the ASPEC rims or 6MT. But seriously, doent this go against the neighbor rule??? It parks right next to me. Should i be pissed or am i being stupid.

look at it this way, you live next to some1 that has class and good taste.

 

I would be pissed. if i lived in a big neighborhood i wouldent pe pissed if there were a few of my own car, but if my next door neighbor got the same exact car I would be pissed

 

I would take it as a compliment to my good taste, but she should have got the same color and mods to really make the compliment a true one.

I would have been mad. Guess I am glad my neighbor went and bought a 300c after looking at mine!

 

I vote for stupid. Sounds like she has the same great taste as do you. Compliment her on her choice and compare notes. So WHAT if she's parked next to you all the time. You didn't buy a $200K vanquish, you bought a common Honda. Live with it and try to grow up!

i would just get over it. honda is pumping a ton of TLs.
it will only get worse. you have to remember, the car maker is making this
to make money. it is a popular car. you will see a bunch more as time passes.

if you wanted a car that is very unique, you should have gotten a different car.

Same thing with my neighbor. She got a TL just 2 weeks after i did. Same color combo too - NBP/Ebony. She's prob in her thirties, but i wouldn't mind hitting it.

Off topic - A few days ago i saw a TL on the highway, so i downshifted to get into vtec, pulled up next to it, and found out it was an 80yr old lady. What a damn shame. It's probably her son's/daughter's car, hopefully. I almost hit a tree because i lost conciousness for a few moments after seeing that.

Also - I just got back from upstate, mahopac. If any of you new yorkers want to let your TL rip, that is the place to go. Not on the highway, but on the sidestreets. I was going 80-120 in a 40mph zone, and was taking 30mph curves at 80mph. I never had more fun driving in my life, it was so relaxing, yet fun. Lots of twisty roads but also long straightaways. Had my highbeams on so i could see miles down, to make sure theres no cars/cops. I have ot invest in radar detector, but am running low on cash, have to pay 8k(16k if i didn't get a scholarship) for my 2nd semester in university.

So Acura should have stopped production after you bought your car? Why is that? I wish everyone had a TL. They should all get to enjoy the pleasure of driving it. I also enjoy seeing them on the road while driving. That way I get to experience the comfortable interior and see the beautiful exterior at the same time.

 

... or be happy that the owner of that TL wont fling their door open to ding yours... and you wont either. heck, get your neighbor on the other side to get a TL then yours is fully protected.

Well, yesterday I was coming home and turning the corner to my house and .... YES...

There it was, another silver TL waiting at the stop sign to turn. I looked in the mirror and saw them sitting there a bit longer than normal... I know they did not have one first as mine is now over 1 year old!!! Great car, so I can not complain that someone else wants to buy.

If you want exclusivity, don't buy a mass-produced car. Acura will make as many TL's as people are willing to buy. The Odyssey and MDX were in short supply. Acura's response was to build a brand new factory in less than a year - no more short supply. Just enjoy your car.

 

I would take it as a sign of flattery, all of my neighbors have admired my TL but have yet to actually go out and buy one, however, many of them have been to the dealer to check it out.
