Thumbs up Who is buying the '04 TL?

Post here if you plan on buying the '04 TL and/or if you have a deposit for the '04 TL. Personally I can't wait until October

I will be buying it but not until june or so next year. Waiting for all the inevitable "children sicknesses" to be taken out of the car

If the price is right on my car (03 TLS-Navi) and the HPT is all I hope it is (6 speed, Brembo brakes (four piston 12" or larger) and at least 18" wheels) and has great handling, I am in. Otherwise, I will probably wait until next summer.

Now that I've seen some real pictures of it, I'm considering it after the first MY, when I'm sure there will be significant improvements. It all depends on the actual features, though.

I have a deposit down on an '04 TL, 6MT and possibly HPT. I'm taking my chance with getting the earliest ones out. I'm banking on a little more care going into the build because it's a new model.

Wow, that is surprising.

Which Lexus do you have? I do not know anyone that has ever had a problem with any Lexus all the way back to the ES-250.

before buying my 02' TL i had a lexus SC, my mom has the new ES, and i considered buying the IS instead of the TL but wasn't impressed with the cheap interior. Overall I think lexus is great and i wouldn't discourage anyone from buying their cars ever, even pre-owned.

Thumbs down

I don't think i will buy it. But i will save my final judgement until i see one in person. Just don't like the look of it. It looks like a bigger TSX. So i will wait until i see the new RL. I hate when car companies start making everything so similar!

I have a 98 gs300. I bought this car because of Lexus reliablility and because the 2nd gen gs was my dream car for the longest. This car has been a nightmare to own. I bought it with about 66k on it and now have 82k on it. I have dumped anywhere from 2kto 3k in this car to make it run correctly. The car runs good now but my $$ is gone. This car was fully serviced at the lex dealership every 5k. This car was not abused at all so I cannot blame the previous owner. I just have had bad luck with this car and am looking forward to coming back to Honda.

Ouch, sorry to hear that. How does the Lexus dealer treat you? What specific problems have you had? I know quite a few people with GOOD experiences with Lexus.

The Lexus dealership has been pretty nice to me. Their prices are outrageous though. They charge a 110$ for a damn oil change. Granite I do them myself but 110 is extreme . They dont even use synthetic. You gotta walk in my lex dealership. They have marble floors a flat screen plasma on the wall antique looking furniture. The dealership make my acura dealership look like a chevy dealership.

Since I bought the gs I have replaced a underdrive pulley, headlight, power steering pump, cat converter. This is why I am wanting to get rid of the car. I used to have a 98 accord exv6 coupe 99 tl 02 tl type S + navi. I am anxiously waiting my return to Honda

I agree. I totally love Lexus cars. My parents used to own an LS400 and I think it was amazing for a car built in 1990. I just rode in my cousins IS300 today and he said there hasn't been one problem at all with his car and he was really shocked when i told him all the problems i've had with mine...rotors, sqeaks, door tape, etc... I think the IS300 was really sweet IMHO.

Not me. Perfectly happy with my 03. Personally think that Acura has gone the wrong direction with this car. The NSX, RSX, and TSX are ENOUGH sporty models. There are some of us who would prefer an elegant looking car, with luxery features, and can't afford the RL.

I don't know why Acura thinks that every car HAS to look "mean".

The new TL is not a car that tells my clients that I am refined when I take them out in it... it looks more like I never really grew up.

I...wish. Having just paid off my '02 doesn't make too much sense unless I have a lot of $$$. I may just skip this next gen and go straight to the next one 5 year from now.

I'm most definately buying one.... I just got off the phone with Acura Carland, discussing me pre-ordering one.... but I'm going to wait until I have the exact specs, pricing, and available options/accessories. Hopefully that should be in september. I'm really excited. I think I'll do it this fall sometime, and make it a christmas present to myself.

Hello everyone,

I am new here, and to be hornest, I like the new TL a lot and I will trade in my 01 CLS anyday for it, but I still want to wait to see price and spec before I pull the strigger. The reason I want to trade in my 01 CLS not because I do not like any more (CLS was my dream car), but I was in the accident in March and it took 4 months to fix my damn car. There was a nuckhead who ran the red light and T-boned me right at the driver door. Even though, my car looks and drives good now, but I just hate the feeling that my CL has been fixed.

Well, sooner or later I am going to have the 04 TL, probably sometime in October.

I am sold on the new 2004 TL. Spoke to a friend at the local Acura Dealer and am excited about making the purchase. He is giving me a ring when they get the first one in. Really love the camel interior. Exterior color im still not set on. Ill wait to see the colors in person against the Florida sun.

I am amazed at how few people are getting navi.

Aside from the expense, I thought everyone in these parts were Navi freaks.

Pondering that question

It's either pay the $800 for the timing belt replacement, or another 4 years of payments for the new one. I just can't decide. I also have to consider new tires soon. That would also be taken care of with the new car.

I think I'll go for the new car!

Hey Guys,
I've put two deposits in two different dealers in VA, the first deposit was back in April and the second one was in June.
I'm the first person in both dealer's and I'll be the first to get the Vehicle when It comes out.
I told them at the dealer that I don't even want them to break down the engine, because I'll do it my self, and i'll take it off the truck once it arrives.
I just wanna make sure that I'll get a good deal in my 2003 TL-S.
I've reserved a Black on Carmel, 6Speed with Navi.
I love my current TL-S, but it's missing the manual transimssion, it's still cool though, It's still an Acura and it is REAL.
I'll probably get mine on the 6TH

Cool Look nice!!!

The pics in edmunds.com is really nice.

I'm thinking about buying a car to replace my Subaru, if I didn't see the 04TL pictures, I may already bought a 03 TL-S.
There is nothing wrong with a sporty look. :p
