Where to lift front driver side of car now when lift point is rusted...

Lift point behind front driver side rusted out. I tried to move like 6" back from lift point (there look like some frame is visible picture 1), but again floor jack start falling through. I'm asking where to lift with flooring jack but with scissor jack to if I will have emergency to replace tire? Is it that in 3. photo right place to lift?

use the front center jack point on the engine sub-frame. it's aluminum so it should still be there.

it will lift both front tires, so be sure to break the lug nuts loose before it's off the ground.

If using a true floor jack, then also look at the sub-frame mounting locations. That is what I always used for the jack stands.

Damn you need to lay off the junkyard shitboxes OP.. i would say its bad luck. But you’re picking these up by your own volition.

As mentioned either front subframe or rear tow hook lift points should suffice. Given the condition of your car, keep an aluminum jack in the trunk everywhere you go

I didn't notice rusting is going on. Was well hidden. Otherwise would pull out Cosmoline or Fluid film. Here is tread of my life, a legend in making

Evidently there is some set of square boxes going on at undercarriage probably could lift there. Like that stuff that is visible in nr 1.. This amount of rust is normal for MN.

Did lift at point in photo. Other photo show how rusty is area where I suppose to lift. Did apply some Cosmoline there. Look like bushing of lower control arm front is gone. Rear look ok. It is not to much rust for MN. To much is when you drive and yours truck frame brake in half in mid of road. How much I did feel at handle there is much more load at this point than regular lifting point behind wheel.

Did put 8"X8" 3/4 plywood in trunk so if will need to lift with scissor jack can put it on and lift at original place. First tried it with floor jack to today but decided that I should do it only in emergency somewhere on road if tire is need to be replaced.

Jack sleep with me. I'm above on mattress and jack is under. I'm smiling all night.

If your car is rusted so bad that you would need a plywood as your jack point then the car is unsafe to drive.
