Crap..bent lower arm...pics
Well, I was jacking up the car in the garage and left the jackstand under the wheel well. My jack gave, the car rolled back, and landed on the jackstand...The threaded portion of this rod bent as shown in the pics below. My questions are: Which part is this, and is it OK to drive like this temporarily? The first 4 pics are of the bent side, which is the passenger side. The next 3 are to show the drivers side...The passenger side also now has play; you can move it with you hands, while the drivers side is still tight/firm...

Bummer dude!
DO NOT DRIVE it like that
You are asking for an accident!
Good lesson to all- the jack stand goes under the frame rail and should have the car resting on it- so WHEN the jack fails the car doesnt drop or roll.
And always use a jackstand because jacks fail at the worst time-
like when you are under the car

^^thanks for the quick response man; which part is this? Its on the Pass side..
I think its part #6 in the link below....do I need to buy all the nuts and bolts as well? IT kinda looks like its part of the part with the rubber boot on it..

^^^Looks like what was affected was #1 on your pic, correct? I see entire steering racks at junkyards close to me for $200 or so, so it cant be that bad...I still cant find the part though on the online web sites...think you can look it up when you get a chance?
the part is called the inner tie rod end. This screws into the rack and pinion under the plastic boot. The part that attaches to the wheel assembly (steering knuckle) is the outer tie rod, and looks to be ok, but pictures don't tell the full story.
You will need to have the part replaced ( could be a DIY project but you may need some specialized tools) and then the car will have to be realigned. The bent part is what is responsible for the toe in the front end alignment. As for getting the whole assembly from a salvage yard, it could work but make sure the tie rod ends are in good shape or you'll just end up replacing them on the new part too.

^^Thanks man, I ordered the part today for like $33 or so bucks...I was planning on having an alignment done either way bc the car was already way off....hopefully I dont have to change out the entire PS rack...from what the guy at the dealer said its prob not the case..but than again every case is different so we will see..I will post up what happens though...thanks again guys
Its way safer and cheaper in the long run to replace tie rod ends and the like- with new parts from the local store.
If in doubt of owning the right tools or having any tools,
- have it towed to an alignment shop and they can make the needed repairs there and inspect everything to be sure.
With pics we are all just guessing.
