The TSX guys WANT that color bad. It looks really sick on grey and silver cars.

Diffusers received in multiple pieces. Um, a BOX is probably a good idea for shipping these :/

Its ok, I can work with em.

Had the meeting today. Long story short, these parts are complicated to make. BUT, since we are getting a low qty, and since we can do a nice finish on the material to make it textured inside the lens instead of more wavy which would require more machining....etc etc...

We have the part out for a tooling quote. Suffice to say we are expecting a mold cost to be super high. But fingers crossed I think we can sell 2 piece kits (sides) for something like $120-$140 a pair. It might sound steep, but this might be impossible for us to do otherwise, and have the item have anywhere close to OEM quality and fit. Just to digitize these parts so we can get the mold machined is going to be something like $2000. So...it is a big project for us. Luckily there is most likely enough demand for it though so I am keeping the chin high. We wanna do a full, fledged effort here, and unfortunately the way we can get the parts looking professional is to have a good mold made.

It will be about a week before we get a ballpark quote on the tool. Then we'll step again.

What is a low quantity? What is the break even? Lets just say you get 500 sets and you charge $120 to cover your nut and it covers the mold cost. Then all of that after your cost for the mold is done, you can make them for little to no cost. So what happens after you cover your cost for the mold, will the cost go down?

thats a pretty high price for a piece of plastic. I already have a set, but I would rather do a full tl-s headlight conversion (which wouldnt cost much more and you get nicer looking housings) than pay that much for just diffusers. I'm sure some will bite tho.

+1, I'd rather pay more and get type-s headlights. 120-140$

you really think that there are 500 people that would buy these for 120? I highly doubt it - at least anytime soon.

My original goal would be to do these for under $100. But the mold is going to be more than I thought. As it turns out, these parts are not really simple to mold up.

Think about it, it is a cheap piece of plastic if I was making 500,000 of them, like Honda did. I am making like 500-1000. The mold cost has to be divided between a lot fewer parts. So yeah, for two pieces of plastic it gets pricey.

His opinion is kinda wrong, just because its a piece of plastic doesn't mean its not worth it, because hey, our whole headlight is "a piece of plastic". I guess a mickey mantle/ babe ruth base ball card is "just a piece of paper". Its more about what it does and supply/demand. There are some out there and I saw one sell for over $200 on the BM. People pay $150-200 for a piece of plastic with a light aka angel eyes, or $65 for clear ZKWs which are a piece of glass or $60 for two LED strips which are 5cent LEDs in plastic. My point is they are worth $80-120 worst care scenario. I have done a couple sets of headlights for myself/friends and JNC has done over 200 sets probably and other members do their own or do other members, at $80-120 I wouldn't be surprised if all 500 sets are done within a year.

awesome! I now have a reason to wait awhile to do my headlights myself! Are you planning on having something like the JDM TSX headlights above? That would be awesome..

how can an opinion be wrong?

my point is that its easier for someone to just buy tl-s headlights and bake out the diffusers or use the headlights as is. they could sell the type-s headlights without the diffuser on the BM for at least what they paid for them.

JnC doesnt do 500 sets of headlights in a year so idk how 500 sets are going to sell. theres maybe 50 people on his waiting list and I bet not all of them would be willing to pay that much for clear diffusers.

realistically, I think you could sell 200 sets of these at that price, but it will take some time.

I personally would buy a set of these becasue I think it would really finish of the look of the front of my car. Only if they're clear though, and not that bluish plastic.

Buying a set of TL-S headlights, baking them apart, taking out the diffusers, putting them back together, then putting them in my headlights is to much of a hassle, and when all is said and done, I'd probably STILL take a $100 hit on the lights when I resold them.

Yeah I would lol, what I was saying is that I would prefer just to buy the diffusers, than buy a set of TLS lights, take them apart, and resell them just for the diffusers. It probably would end up costing me about the same in the end.

Because just like anything else on this site that gets for sale, 21 people call DIBS and then no one buys it. Sometimes you just gotta know the market and people like me or JNC or the other people that clear headlights would know that its a GREAT investment if the final product gets to the $80-$120 range.

For the other people that think its as simple as getting TLS headlights and then taking the diffuser out of them its not that simple and it will cost you about $300 to do so. You ask why? Here is why. Try getting a set of TLS headlights for under $600. THEN do all of the work to mod the headlight, that is if you know how and then put them back together without the diffuser and see how much they are worth. There is a set on the BM that is selling for I believe $375 without the diffusers so he took a $225 hit just on ASKING PRICE. There is no other way to get these cheaper, so trust me when I tell you if you want these the only way to get them would be to do all of that work or shell out $120 for a set from this guy.

Ok, I've been trying to keep quiet on this and mods, please don't lock this thread due to my comment, I just want to show people that there's hope!

I have a manufacturer who's making these. I've spoken to Astro who has advised me that this manufacturer needs to become a vendor on here in order to have a group buy. I passed along to the the manufacturer all of Astro's contact info and I'm waiting to hear back from my manufacturer that he's officially a vendor so we can start this group buy.

I'm not releasing any info about pricing, who the manufacturer is, etc. Please also don't PM me about this, start a group buy list, ask for photos, etc. This will all happen in due time, however please know that there is a light at the end of the tunnell and like all of you, I'm pretty excited!

Why not just contact us? We already pay vendor fees. I'd be happy to distribute the products to make it easier on the manufacturer in question, and for us to expand our product line too, of course.

-I know how to mod headlights

-I was referring to buying used headlights off the BM or ebay.

-If you dont want to upgrade to the tl-s headlights you could set up something with someone who has a tl-s and wants modded headlights w/o the diffusers. plenty of people have taken the diffusers out of their tl-s headlighst. I dont know why.

-baking headlights is not hard at all. dont make it sound like its something only a handful of people on this site can do.

-I would like to see this happen, but I just dont see the amount of sales that ya'll are hoping for. good luck.

This.....I don't know why people make such a huge deal out of blacking out and clearing these headlights. Takes a half hour to pull them apart, two hours to paint, half hour to put them back together. If people only knew how easy it really is......

On another note though, I'd much rather spend $100 on the diffusers than go through the BS of buying and selling another set of headlights only to take the same $100 hit.

1. I was not referring to you. I was referring to list that JNC has who pay him to do the work. Obviously there are a lot more people than you think who know how/ have the time to do this.

2. Like I said before, used TLs headlights even on EBAY are $600 for the pair so in the long run your losing about $200 which its $100 cheaper to just buy the parts direct from MR HEEL TOE and save time.

Don't get so defensive, I never said it was hard and i'm glad that you can do yours instead of paying $150-$200 to get it done. Also sales will be there, its all about how long will it take to liquidate inventory.
