There's an article on msn.com ( http://travel.msn.com/Guides/article...46643&GT1=8397), but it talks about scenery, romance and history. But I'm looking for fun driving places in my TL!

I've driven the Blue Ridge but in other cars, but there's too many cars. You can't DRIVE.

In the DC area I've had fun on the GW Parkway in Virgina during the middle of the day, also the Montgomery County part of the Beltway going into Virgina. I just drove it yesterday about 1pm, went 85 to 90 mph all the way from Ga Ave. to 66 East to Falls Church. Guess the heat kept everyone inside, I didn't have to slow down at all.

Also use to have fun driving the back roads from 66 to 95 in the Southern part of Prince William County, but too many cars in that area now.

My daily commute includes Crow Canyon Road between Castro Valley and San Ramon. It's a twisty two-lane through beautiful countryside and the speed limit is 50 MPH. Makes me appreciate my CT RSB.

i like to drive along Riverside here in tulsa...anytime between 8 and 11 is nice...nothing like the ocean, but better than nothing...

wish i had a drive like sunset blvd. thru west hollywood to santa monica...i'm an amateur photographer and would love to pull over and shoot some scenery and things...how far of a drive is it from sunset blvd. to santa monica?

Locally, Interstate 480....it's a 25-mile-long speed course.

When I'm in NYC, I like to drive on the Palisades Parkway, especially in October - Novemeber. The scenary is beautiful. Just gotta make sure I don't speed.

In LA.... besides the PCH, I like driving on Mulholland Drive. One of my clients mentioned Angeles Crest Highway (I thnk that was it). I plan to take a drive out there soon. Oh yeah, the road up to Lake Arrowhead is fun also.

i like to take the long way sometimes through Middletown and Red Bank. Or Through Aberdeen and Keyport to get to my house or going to work/school in NJ.

so being that I live on lovely Long Island, the LIE is just too boring, straight, and blah, I prefer the Northern State Parkway, 2 lanes (no trucks or comm vehicles allowed), very curvy, slightly hilly here and there, beautiful scenery etc...

another road to drive is 25A in suffolk county on the north shore...great road to drive at night

- PA Turnpike going east
- Atlantic City Expressway (when the troopers aren't watching)
- Nyes Road in Harrisburg (an old, very curvy road that's A LOT of fun to drive fast as long as you don't encounter the occassional person who doesn't know how to drive on it and doing 25mph).

There are a good number of windy sections of back roads around where I live in Maryland. Very pretty views as well. On a Sunday you can drive through the twisties, park at a local watershed/dam, and handwax the car, etc. The stock TL suspension is a little soft and the tire grip isn't that great so I have to take it easy. I can't wait to get my Tein SS kit.

Great views, nails and other road debris and roofing nails, Abandoned cars and home with the occasional deceased pet or Katrina victim.
Trust me, it is the next best thing to driving in Beirut.

Good Lord, man.. you're getting around my neck of the woods. I'm in western Prince William County and there are a lot of good drives in this area. Consider taking route 55 to Front Royal, then 522 South to 211 and back through Warrenton. Or perhaps route 50 from Gilbert's Corner to Winchester. Or Route 29 to Charlottesville.

So many good places to take your TL.

I've done 50 from Chantilly to Winchester and Rt 29 from 66 to Warrenton. Just not YET, in my TL. Also love taken Rt 3 from F'burg via Warrenton to Rt29 to 66, havn't done that one yet in the TL.

I got nailed for 79 in 65 on 81 just north of Salem at Marker #160, Easter weekend, so I've been a little spooked to drive FAST! But it just felt to damn good the other day!!

You mentioned Prince William County. Have you ever driven route 619 (Bristow Road) between Brentsville and where it connects to route 234? There are some great twisties in that road and it's real good blacktop.

And then there is Difficult Run, which is a section of 193, west of McLean that runs from the intersection of 193 and Old Dominion road (at the entrance to Great Falls) to before i crosses over the Beltway. Some of those curves are very challenging.

Yeah, 619. I use to go to Vint Hill Station one day a week for about 5 years before they closed. At the time I had a '91 GTI. I would go from FFX CITY via 66 to 29 to 215 then to 619 to 234 then back onto 619 and take the back road to 95 to get to Quantico. That was a funny RUN. Only drawback did it every week and it's only a two lane road. But this area is too damn built up now.

On the way to and from work, I cut through the Watchung Reservation, very twisty road. If there's no one in front of me I can have a good time.

I just took my month old TL out for a drive on PCH from Santa Monica to Monterey, CA through Carmel and the 17-mile drive around Pebble Beach. Lots of curves, AMAZING scenery, surf, sun and my TL - very therapeautic!

Also the drive to and around Big Bear and Arrowhead is pretty cool if you like curvy mountain driving, except sometimes you get stuck behind an idiot who doesn't know what a turn-out is and keeps chugging their jalopy up the hill at 20mph. Just get a TL man!

Here in Sicily, Italy the streets are so curvy and windy, I just only wished that we had the rear sway bar so that you could go around the curves with out having to tap the brakes.

The minute you cross the state line in Florida on I-95 and I-4 down by Tampa headed towards South Beach... at night, 4 lanes of EMPTY traffic.. I LOVE IT! The places I'd want to drive to max out? Salt Lake and the Autobahn

I live in Silver Spring, Md and most of the time the good roads are clogged. My advice is go to the Virginia and Maryland official rest stops and pick up their "Scenic Tour" road maps. Both states have them as I recently just got mine. These are different from the regular road maps in that they list all the good scenic roads that are out-of-the-way. I went down to Fredericksburg area over the 4th and went south on 301 into Virginia and then back roads all the way per the map. 80 mph on the Beltway isn't as fun as 60mph on the back roads in my opinion. Plus the radar seems to stick to the interstates so you have clear sailing.

It sounds like you live relatively close to where I live. Some of my favorites in Virginia and Maryland:

• US-50 between the Beltway and Annapolis when it's not high beach traffic season. 85 mph is slow on there. But bring a good radar detector.
• Fairfax Station Road from VA-123 to Clifton (very twisty and no shoulders....make a slow pass the first time to learn the road)
• Henderson Road from VA-123 to Clifton Road (same note as above, lots of blind hills/blind curves as you go over hills)
• Springvale Road north of VA-193 if you go during the day. Some good hills. L'Auberge Chez Francois is up at the end of this road—an outstanding restaurant, in case you have never been there.
• The back way to Charlottesville, which I run all the time for football games: I-95 south to VA-3; VA-3 west to VA-20; VA-20 south to US-15; US-15 south to Gordonsville; take the second exit from the roundabout onto VA-231 and be prepared for a few very sharp turns—a good road to pay some heed to the yellow advisory speeds! Fewer cops than on US-29, although you risk getting stuck behind a local slowpoke.
• VA-9 and WV-9 from Leesburg to Charles Town. The part in West Virginia can be fun if there aren't any slowpokes in the way.
• US-501 from Lynchburg to Halifax. Same note applies about possible slowpokes, but you can haul ass on here even though it's a two-lane road. The part from Brookneal through Volens to Halifax is an especially high-speed portion.
• Sulphur Springs Road, northwest of Clifton Forge. BE CAREFUL on this road. It's the "shortcut" over the mountain from Clifton Forge to the Homestead, but I doubt it's much shorter timewise than the far longer trip around on I-64 through Covington. But talk about a wild, twisty ride. Just BE CAREFUL because the curves are EXTREMELY sharp and steep. You will have to make a lot of the turns on the wrong side of the road if you don't want to destroy your car, so SLOW DOWN and make sure nobody is coming the other way! Best rule of thumb—bring a passenger who can look for you. This road can be scary.

The portion of southwestern Fairfax County surrounding the town of Clifton and the area between Clifton and Centreville has some good twisties. Don't go out there on weekend nights, though, because these are the roads that are notorious for high-school kids getting in over their heads and destroying their cars.

I really enjoy I-87 from Albany north to Montreal, but I don't get to drive on it often enough.
