When to expect leasing 'deals' to come out?
I remember when my mother was purchasing her '01 CL, they had some nice leasing deals for about 3K down and 299 a month. I understand that for every 1K down, you essentially are taking $30 off of the lease price, so with nothing down, a TL could be had for about $400 a month (of course you still had to put tax down). All the lease prices I have seen people getting are about $475 - $500. Anyone have any idea when Acura may come out with teh same deals? I am looking to get a new TL (or purchase a used '02 TL Type-S) in the near future, but I don't want to pay much more than $400 a month. Are the accurate residuals out for this car yet? It seems that MSRP is the going price for 6MT's, are the 5AT's selling at a discount?
SOrry ot be asking such broad questions that were probably answered before, I did use the search and didn't come up with anything useful.
Thanks in advance!

You're not going to see any lease deals for at least a year. (especially on the navs and 6 speeds) Why should acura have deals on cars that are sold before they ever reach the lots.

Doubt you will see $400/month zero-down offers at all on this car
Even when they are offered, you won't likely see a $400/month rate with zero down. The problem with getting to such a low monthly is that the residual would have to be EXTREMELY high 70% on a $32K car (that's figuring a non-navi with $1,500 discount). Redisduals are already out for this car and current figures are between 55 & 57%. $427/month...Possibly Sept '04

I have a $453 per month lease payment on a 42 month lease on a 5AT non-nav with 15K miles with nothing down. I got this in early November. September is always a good time to lease or buy a car since they want them to move all the leftovers.

I think it's all based on the region you're residing in....looks as if East Coasters have it pretty good right now with both the Non-Navi and Navi models.

Thanks for all the help guys. I was planning on waiting a few months anyway to determine if it is worth it to spend a few extra $ on the new model but leasing it instead of just purchasing an '02 TLS with nav if I can find one off lease at the end of the year.
Personally, I really like the looks of the 02 better than the 04, but I have only seen an 04 once in person. It has the type of styling that I know will grow on me and I will like it better in a few more months.

Better deals on Nav units will surely be available once production meets demand. However, on Non-Navi units, I don't think a few hundred dollars over invoice is too bad. At MSRP, this car is already, IMHO, beating the competition all to pieces.
Good luck and hope you enjoy whatever it is you get!!

D,
One of the things you might want to do is an inventory search of all the dealers in your region. If you find one that has a greater supply than others. (For instance, my dealer here in Lakeland only has 5 in stock whereas a Tampa dealer about 35 miles away has 31!) They might work with you simply to move them off the lot. Another possibility might be to shop for a lease rates via credit unions or banks instead of the dealers. However, if you're like me, you can afford to wait a little to see if Honda will subsidize them. That probably will be the best deal available.

I leased a car through Honda Financing who charges a $550 bank fee. Some here think that's a rip-off. I do know that other leasing companies charge lower bank fees. Please keep this in mind: The bank fee includes GAP insurance and there's no desposition fee at time of turn in. Honda also allows for $1500 in damage without any penalty. These other charges could be large $'s from another leasing company so it's important to read the fine print. Honda's not going out of business and their lease won't be sold to some other company and the peace of mind is well worth the additional upfront fee, IMHO.

Ah, err, I was wrong. $400/month is available TODAY from my local dealership. It's still not ZERO down, but pretty close to it with only $3,873 down. Exxpires in two days...Here's the link...http://www.hendrickacura.com/en_US/A...inMenu_1.chtml

Jimmy's #'s the same, right?
Jimmy - sounds like your deal is pretty much the same as the one I posted. Only difference is that your is a higher monthly and a lower deposit. To BUY a NAVI (at $700 of MSRP) with $6K is still a $523 payment @ a 3.99/month rate.

what ?? you lost me??
those numbers dont make sense.... if you BOUGHT the car for 750 under sticket.. That makes it about 34500.00... plus tax license reg.. your back to about 37-38000
with 6000 down.. your fianancing 32,000 divided by 60 months is 533.33 without interest charges yet.... you need to check your numbers again...

On a lease.. cap cost of 34500.00
48 month lease
52% residual
17k and some change residual...
364.00 a month for 48 months alone on principal balance plus rent charge(money factor/lease factor) and sales tax..
thoses numbers are assuming no money down...
with 3800 down.. the 800 is first payment, tags and dmv fees..the other 3000 is cap cost...
3000 cap cost is about 23.50 per 1000... so 23.50*3=70.50
so your new lease payment would be 364-70= 293.50 plus rent charge and tax.. probably around 400-425.00... so yeah thats about right...

D_Nyholm -
You live in NY state. Do you know that AHFC is no longer leasing here? Now they are doing a balloon finance thing instead. Similar idea...small payments up front then big payment or return the car. The main difference is that they bypass liability laws because YOU are technically the owner instead of the leasing company. Also, you pay tax on the ENTIRE car instead of only the part you use. AHFC offsets this by not charging a bank fee or deposit or other stuff.
Check out this link. Island Acura in Wantagh. $0 down. 12K mi/yr. $395/month on non-NAVI. Taxes extra.
Can't complain.

I've posted this before, but here it is again.
42 mo lease, 12,000 mi/yr, 5AT no nav, $399/mo, $595 due at signing including 1st mo rent. This was negotiated down from a drive off cost of $1300 originally and was matched for another friend who purchased a car 1 week later.
This was available for the past month at Acura of Palm Beach. Speak to Bennie (sales mgr) or Mike Horwitz (an excellent salesman).

Jimmy - my PURCHASE figure was 34400 + 1043 taxes+doc (tag transfer) came in just under $36K - $6K = $29,990. Payments are ~$560/month (inlcudes all interest). What's wrong with my math?

No trade. I didn't pull the trigger on this deal as I was a little backward on a lease ending August 04. My two good friends did though within one week with the two guys I mentioned at the dealership. Mike's a good guy. They have a good non nav inventory with virtually all colors available.

Mitch - OVER $6K down? On a lease? Were you born yesterday or the day before? The ONLY way a lease deal makes ANY sense is with the least amount down possible. Otherwise your simply giving them your cash UP FRONT while you rent their car (temporarily). If you REALLY want to give someone $6K for them to invest, give me a PM and we can talk about the details... If your young and new to leasing, I didn't mean to offend.

I realize it was a rip off , but I just wanted to illustrate how deceptive these Acura dealers are. In big numbers,
$299 a month . . . . in tiny print $6186 down!!!
This is Rick Case Acura, supposedly the biggest Acura dealer in America. I guess he got this big by scamming everyone?

if its a 60 month term, that looks pretty much correct..
