Question wheelspin - new tires help?

Anyone find that new tires or hpt's reduced their wheelspin in 1st gear? My car (6spd) is all wheelspin when you floor it at anything above 2500 rpm in 1st- and I am not talking about dropping the clutch - just cruising slowly, floor it, they light up to where they redline in about a second. I am in MA, though, so it is cold. Anyone able to have the tires stick in 1st gear?

Mine spin too (6MT) here in NYC even on dry road take off with a little aggressiveness. I am going to put Michelin Pilot A/S on as soon as I get a chance.

My HPT 030s spun with little provocation, but it is cold and that is almost to be expected. The rubber compound just gets very hard at low temps. The winter Pilot Alpins (on ASA Ka3 wheels...they look really sharp) I now have on are much much better. I expect the 030s to be fine when it gets warm. We will see.

my car is quicker with my Michelins, and much less wheel spin without TCS.

I've noticed wheel spin as well with my HPT's, but it has been pretty cold here lately. I'll be getting my falken 512's put on next wknd. We'll see if this helps.

Blizzak Snows

I can spin my Blizzak Snows with little difficulty on dry pavement and I'm in a 5AT.

With my pzeros on my 6mt I don't get much wheel spin from a roll but I can break them easily from a stop. The weather has been uncooperative to testing much but on my first 0-60 try in the car I turned a 5.91. That is pretty good for first try I think and I am sure I can shave that down to at least 5.7 with some launch work and better conditions.
