Wheel Lock question

My car came with wheel locks on the wheels, however the dealer game me this kit of 4 wheel locks and a key.

Will that key work for the locks already on the car as well... I assume I don't need the ones that are in the kit.

And is every key (at least acura key) the same? If so, how does that provide "protection"?

Sounds like the dealer made a mistake. There should be one set of locking lug nuts, and one key that fits them.

I'd guess that the key you have fits the uninstalled locking lug nuts, and you don't have a key for the locking lug nuts that were installed.

I'd check that asap!

The more likely scenario is that the key you have is for the lugnuts installed on your car and they just put your regular ,original nuts in the case .Take another look at the nuts in the case they gave you...they're prob just regular lug nuts.

I bet you are right.. I didn't look real good since they are in a box (not sealed).

I will check tonight... Thanks for clearing that up.

So every set of wheel locks has it's own key structure?

They are not all different. The dealer should have given you the key code. Perhaps it is still in the box.

The key was in the box with 4 lugs... I thought they were another set or something but you are right, they are probably the originals since the locks are definitely are on the car.

Sorry I'm just an idiot
