You guys should really look into NASA Midwest or autocrossing. A better driver=a better racer and vice versa.
Well the thread is "what's your most embarrasing loss?" I thought most of these stories were hilarious!!!

So i'm merging onto the highway in my STOCK 1998 Camry LE (4 banger) and some douche bag in a Chevy Avalanche decided to drive up to my side and not let me merge.. I was like "wtf mate" and couldn't really brake to go behind him cause he was towing a fucking boat and I had a car behind me. So I figured he is towing alot of weight and I decide to floor the little camry to try and get ahead of him. He must have heard the furious 135hp and next thing I hear is his shit just ROARING. To my surprise he started pulling away as my little shitbox is just making its way over towards the redline.

Basically, a Chevy Avalanche towing a boat beat my camry. I know the camry is not at all a performance vehicle.. but come on.. I figured it would pull ahead against a truck towing something.
This has me falling out my chair everytime I read it!

lol, i got a 98 camry (not sure about the other guy), and trust me, it's one of the slowest cars on the road. Let me put it this way...when it's raining, from a dead stop, with the steering wheel turned to one side, in that position, when i floor it, the tires will NOT slip (there's no traction control by the way). That's how slow the car is...it's pretty sad....

On the other hand, yea, those corolla's are pretty fast, but that's only because they are 500-800lbs lighter than my camry...

I had a old school ford tempo(85) that was really slow. I will never forget when I helped my friend move to Sac state and I followed him(he was driving a u haul truck) I tried to pass him and he gunned it.......... I couldn't catch up

lol, i just wanted to test how slow my camry was, haha. The funny thing is I used to have a stock 1992 Accord and that car felt a lot faster than the camry, probably because it was a few hundred lbs lighter.

I don't know if it was slower than my tempo...... That thing had no power at all! I think 0-60 took 20 seconds....I used to hate merging on the freeway because It took me forever to pick up speed.. I think it only went up to 80mph

Those cars seem slow but it can't top my friends 87 Tercel wagon....... You'd go full throttle and it just slugged off the line......... We were trying to chase this dihatsu(no kidding i think it was a charade but don't quote me on it) anyway the dihatsu was full of girls and it was just me and my friend. We couldn't catch up....... it was pretty lame..... The passenger kept waving at us while the car kept pulling away.............

I found this thread hilarious so I decided to post lol. This was before I traded my 94 legend in for a 03' TL-P. I was at the redlight and this busted neon pulls up. He looks at me and I smirk. I ate his ass alive on the first race. We jumped on I-97 going towards VA. 2 seconds later it looks like the neon had jets in its ass because he beat the paint off the legend by about 10 car lengths my jaw dropped.

yea, the GTi-R is AWD and has a 237hp turbo motor (I think it is SR20DET).

This timeslip shows you an idea how fast they can be if modded:
http://www.dragtimes.com/images/3346...san-Pulsar.jpg

Btw, did it look like this,
http://www.turbophile.com/our_cars/g...defront_hi.jpg

or, http://80.109.240.72/t.kalisz3/modele/pulsarexa.jpg

The first one is the GTi-R, while the second one is a normal one.

lol don't worry too much about it, both of those cars would be pretty fast if modded since they are pretty light, just like civics.

Recently, a Mazdaspeed 3 that was BPU. No badges, just some shop's frame, and got me on a bog spot. Damn if those things aren't quick! 280HP, 280TQ in a sub-3K lb car...

~Cheers~

Basic Performance Upgrade. A term usually used for Supras, it means intake/FMIC, exhaust. In an NA application, that'd be I/H/E (intake, headers, exhaust). This guy looked to have an exhaust, and those power numbers are the stock crank numbers. Exhaust on a turbo car is VERY important and I've seen a 30+ WHP gain just from swapping exhaust systems out.

~Cheers~

True, but still, it's a small Mazda wagon, haha. Those things are quicker than 3G TLs and G35s, but it's just that I didn't expect it to be a Mazdaspeed one.

CLK350...Maybe not as embarrassing as a festiva. I blame it on the fact that I had 3 additional people in my car. He killed me though...terribly...like 3 lengths ahead before i even got to 40mph

Think about how light metros are plus you had all your friends in the car. I lost to this 49 year old in her Lexus ES300. I know the age because it was my mom. I had a 99 3.0 CL at the time.

I lost to one a couple weeks ago, too. Just by a fender, but he was I/E. Exhaust on the UZs makes a HUGE difference. My SC400 had such a restrictive exhaust it was ridiculous. Pinches and bends everywhere, .
