wHAT'S tHE bOTTOM lINE?

There are so many people on this forum starting threads comparing the TL to many different cars i.e.in no particular order) G35, chrysler 300, Maxima, Bmw 5 series(old model), an ALTIMA?! :banghead: , es300, is300, cadillac CTS etc etc....So what is the bottom line? What do you guys think is the car that will really compare to our beloved TL? IMHO, it would be the g35 coupe. I chose it because in terms of PRICE,styling, power, 'goodies', and other features, the 2 cars have a lot in common. It's true that one may be more superior than the other in some areas but when you sum everything up it just boils down to what car made you happier....i tried starting a POLL and i hope it works...if it doesn't just feel free to add any car even if it's not in the list above...

Ferrari Enzo....hahaha not really i would compare it to the G35 coupe or sedan. its kind of in between because i feel its a little sportier than the sedan but larger and more practical than the coupe. i mean if you match the numbers they are just about dead even.

well i didn't vote because there was no option to select that says "uncomparable" or "nothing comes close" or "Objects in mirror are losing"

good point caball...i was thinking of putting the sedan and coupe of the g35 in separate choices but that would make the poll too biased on my personal choice

ferrari enzo? LOL ...i feel like my TL is a super sports car after driving my f150 supercrew the whole day...just feels so nimble anf light

You know I'd have to say that the Maxima doesn't even rate a 2nd look with me.. UUUgly.. I think they missed on that one... don't see many new ones around here
lots of even uglier old ones.. the epitome of crappy if you ask me.

The G35 maybe... but that damn "beer can sound" of the body and techno cheapy looking interior.. They used to sell like hot cakes but not any more what happened? The Truth about them got out.... they are bombs :grenade:

Lazus oops .. Lexus-sux-us rip-us-off-us bore-us not-for-me-us piss-on-thus pretend-to-be-such-and-such-us - kiss_my_as!_much?
(need I say more)

The Caddy for gutsus to build such a car (would NOT want to live with it though)

How about......
-------------------------------------
Audi A4/3.0 to much $ but compares nicely still would not want to own one

For goodness sakes the answer to this simple question is look at the cars the TL is compared to in magazines. Magazines compare cars similar in nature unless otherwise specified.

I actually would have add the 3-series to the list, as I think it is very commonly cross-shopped, more than the CTS and Maxima, I think. ...

The G35 Coupe has a lot in common with the TL ? Like What ? May as well compare an X5 to a aTL

Bring 3 friends will you on a test drive of a TL and G35 coupe and ask the 2 that you crammed into the back of the G35 what they thought. The G35 coupe is 2 doors , the TL is 4.

Compare the same body style

that's why i said it was a mix, the performance is like the coupe but the size is like the sedan.

I voted for the Maxima, because I tend to agree with the person who said they're similar in terms of features & character (FWD). Before I bought my TL, the choice was between it and the G35, but I came to realize that the 2 cars are very different in character: the G is a luxurious sports car, while the TL is a sporty luxury car. I chose the one that was better at the things I valued more - i.e. the TL! But recently I've been car-shopping with my dad, who has been looking at Maximas, and I'm starting to see just how similar they are to the TL. Mind you, I'm talking about the top-of-the-line Maxima SL, with leather, navi... the works. I guess I just feel that they are closer in terms of driving characteristics (265-270 HP, FWD), and when loaded, the Maxima is almost comparably equipped to the TL (minus the DVD-A, Bluetooth and voice recognition, of course... but then the G35 doesn't have those either!). Plus, I just knew that almost this whole forum would vote for the G35, so I had to throw a vote the Maxima's way, just to be different!

car comparisons are based on price and size, not features and drivetrain system

that is why i put the sedan and coupe in one option...i know the g coupe is only two doors and the TL has 4...the only reason i why i said that the closest competitor of the TL was the g coupe was because these were the two cars i was debating on getting. I didn't mention anything about rear seats coz i rarely use my rear seats.(i have a truck as a daily beater). what i was talking about was style, power, features and some other stuff...when you reply to a thread please be kind enough to answer the question at hand before saying anything else....
