I don't like smoking the headlights at all, period. It reduces functionality.

DO NOT "SMOKE" them! I did this when I first bought my car and bluh, what a waste. If anything buy the tint to see how you'll like it as it is much easier to remove. But, I think on a WDP it would look sweet to have the bezel color matched WDP, and maybe removing the diffuser and leaving the chrome or paint the chrome black.

What if you paint the bezel WDP, the ring around the projector black, and then smoke the diffuser?

why not buy some tint film first and see if you like the tint or not. Since the film is not permanent. If you are not satisfy with the out look you can just take out the film. Me personally I dont like it tint. I rather have funtionality and safety. Good luck

Exactly I'd really like to see the bezel color matched WDP

Speaking from experience, skip the tint, open the headlights up, and modify them properly.

I have blacked out headlights on my 04 WDP. Feel free to click around in my progress thread linked in my signature to look at pictures with the headlights before and after the tint.

I'd black out the trim/bezel in the headlights and then keep the corner clear and just put some Carbon Fiber trim on that metallic edge or paint that black too. That will look sharp, classy and won't be overdone. IMO painting it WDP won't look good at all
