What is your Average MPG/MPH?

Just curious. Currently mine are:

Average MPG: 27
Average MPH: 43

I've never reset my trip computer, but the last couple of weeks, I've been doing all highway (averaging 400+ miles per tank).

When I first got my car, I think my average MPG was around 35.. I spent a lot of time just sitting there with the car running.. playing with the buttons.

I get about 45-50 mph (I mostly pile up freeway miles) @ 26-27 mpg. I reset mine every time I fill up. I want to see if the mpg gets better as time goes on.

Cool

IMHO, MPH is meaningless for lots of ppl... MPG is useful info though. 04TL's trip computer seems quite accurate.

Again, my MPG in City is around 16-19, and 24-31 in Highway. What a car!

My MPG average is 25-26, it used to be 27 but only lasted for about the first 2000 miles. I was under the impression that it would go up after the break in period....weird.

so do you get a more accurate reading if you reset the trip computer every time you get gas or not resetting it at all? or does it matter? i haven't resetted mine since delivery and i have about 1800 miles on it. 24MPG and 31MPH 1800 miles 55Hours of pure enjoyment

Yup it's in cerritos or i think artesia. The price varies but it's usually the same price as arco. THere were even a couple times that it was cheaper. I know it's kinda wierd because shell is usually the most expensive...

Have to RESET to get accurate mileage reading

Guys,

TO get an accurate mileage reading, you should reset the trip mpg computer everytime you fill the car with gas.

Or to get a more accurate reading use this formula:

total miles = m
gallons = g
miles per gallon = mpg
mpg = m/g

try to use up all the gas in the tank then fill-up, rack all the mileage you can get out of that tank until you almost again used up all the gas then when time comes to fill-up again take the mileage reading and divide it with the gallons filled.

okay!

I've never reset my trip monitor. Simply because I find it interesting to see the average MPG and MPH since I've owned the car. It's like a lame game. So far, I've got about 5000 miles on the car. Don't know if my average will go much more above 27/43 (MPG/MPH).

I'm sure I'll eventually get bored and start resetting it with every tank. Time will tell. Whenever I've wanted to know how long a particular tank lasted so far, I've just done the quick calculations at the pump.

I'm getting 18MPG (13L/100km) in the city these days but I've only got 1500Kms on the car. I'm hoping it'll get better as I get used to the car and the engine management gets used to my driving.

The best I got was 29MPG (8L/100km) on the highway.

For Canadians: Use this formula to get MPG: 235.22 / L = MPG

Where

L = Litres per 100 km (L/100km)
MPG = Miles per gallon (US Gallons)

21 MPG on average over the life of the car. This represents 60% highway/40% city. Last tank (filled yesterday) was 23.1 MPG. Most of the highway miles are at 80 mph, which obviously lowers the mileage. Car has 8500 miles on it.

is it bad to fill up near empty on a fuel injected car? i heard that this increases the chance that air gets in. or it doesn't matter? right now i fill up every other day where i have about 1/4 left - est 130 miles left according to the MID

I don't see how the timing of your fill ups could negatively affect your car in that way. It could be bad to run it all the way to empty... but simply filling up at 1/4 of a tank should be fine.

25mpg
40mph average

i do mostly highway driving during the week but on the weekends i get about 18-19 mpg driving in the city. plus when i am in the city i usually have a few friends in the car. for you fellas that are getting worse mpg after more miles maybe you guys are hitting the gas harder. when i first got the car i was only feathered the throttle.

Average MPG (According to MID): 27 -> 28
Average MPG (According to ¿GotJazz?): 26 -> 27

Average MPH: Couldn't care less, unless I'm on a long road trip.

For those of you who have experienced lower MPG recently, we have just crossed into the Spring / Summer timeframe, where gas is reformulated for some parts of the country. If I remember correctly, I have always seen my average MPG go down about 10% during the summer months due to the reformulation in our city.

BTW, you should always reset your trip computer for every fill-up if you want accurate information. It can be an indicator of potential engine problems if you see your average MPG drop suddenly. Keeping the Trip Computer unchanged since the purchase date gives you an almost totally useless data point. However, if totally useless data points are your "thing", go for it!

19-20 in the City and 25 to 27 on the road.
Engine has 2250 miles on it. One might expect some improvement as it breaks in...one can hope.
