What would you pay...?

I just found a private seller selling his 04 TL. It has 1800 miles and is a 6sp with Navi just like I was looking to buy new. He is askin 33,500 for it....what would you pay? It is the same exterior color that i wanted (anthracite) but has the quartz interior instead of the ebony which i would have got if I bought new... Is it worth getting the used one or just waiting for a new one?

Sorry if this has been posted before..i did a search with no luck...
AHHHHHHH I want a TL
Thanks

33,500 for the brand new one from the dealership, except that used one has the combo your dealer cannot give to you and you love it most.

Any used cars should ask less $$ than the new cars'.

Yeah, I think $30,000 to $32,000 is reasonable. People in New York are paying less than his asking price for a brand new one.

no matter how much you save, always get what you want. you'll enjoy alot more than the money you'll be saving

I was thinking more along the lines of 30k, if I could get it for that much would it be worth it? I mean the only difference is the interior leather color and that I can't say I mind it THAT much.

Break in period is 600 miles.

I would also agree w/ everyone else that $33.5K is too high.

However, in San Jose, it might be right. Dealer will not give you 6MT nav for less than MSRP-500 i.e. 34.5. So 32.5 may be right for with 1800 miles. $33.5 is high.

Could there be something wrong with the car? Get it inspected by the dealership before buying it...
also, if you tell the guy it's not the colour you wanted...if he wants to sell it..he can get you a better price on it.

yes. definately worth it. unless he's selling it b/c he got into an accident. check the history of the car.
way past break in, but unlike demo cars people ususally break in their cars properly so i wouldn't worry about that.

thanks for all the good advice...i'll be sure to post if anything happens.

joganjani: I am for sure not buying from a dealer in cali for that reason. They are not doing anything when it comes to making a deal. I have relatives who are good friends with dealers in other states so I expect I can find one somewhere in the midwest...

Thats a hard combo to find. The dealer would sell it for a lot more. Make sure the history is clear and go for it. <--- My opinion.
