What is the white plug thing in the armrest storage area

There is a round, white piece of plastic in the storage area under the armrest. It has a slot in it. At first I thought it was a lamp, but it doesn't seem to be.

I checked the manual, couldn't find anything.

which "storage area"? the shallow "storage area" (i.e. where the coin holder is), or the big "storage area", where you can put CDs, and where the AC Outlet is?

The big one, where the power outlet is. The plug is on the same side as the power outlet, but more in the center.

It's a light. Only works when the parking or headlights are on, though.

That is the bad thing though, it is always on with your headlights. If you do a lot of night time driving, it will remain on. Sucks huh?

Now I will really get you worried. The glove box light is ON all of the time too.

Acura saved a few cents on a switch.

How can I be sure? I got in and closed the door, and someone turned the lights on. That's how.
