Getting back to a minor point made above, they will go through your stuff. I put my ipod and nextel phone in my glove box and locked it. After getting back into my car it was unlocked and my phone was in the cup holder... I inquired why it had been unlocked and gone through to which they (very nicely) replied that it was unlocked to see if my owner's manual was inside so they could update my service log, which in fact, they did.
They were very nice about it but still had no problem going through an intentionally locked storage compartment. Nothing was missing though.

You'll never prove that anyone stole something from your car (unless you have hidden cameras in your ride) so why would you even leave anything in your car that could be stolen? Take your stuff out of the car before you leave it.

I fully plan to strip my car down the next time it has to go to the dealer. The last time I took mine in, I went in with a coin holder full of change. They stole all the quarters/dimes out of it. They were nice enough to leave me the nickels though! I didn't even bother to complain about it beacuse I knew it wasn't going to matter. I'll throw a comment next time I'm there though.
Is there a way to get a valet key if you didn't get one with your car when you bought it? I only got the two keys with the keyfob (bought it CPO). I especially want to keep them out of my glove box beacuse I have my CarPC in there and I don't need anyone playing with it.

These kind of posts really suck. And scares the shit out of me. I took my car in for the sub rattle and rear seatbelts not winding up and the caveman ripped the seat bottom off breaking the mounts and scratches the leather in three spots. Then the wash boy liked powerwashed the car stripping all the wax and blasted some paint off the wheel lip. When I returned to get the seatbelts they ordered i rewaxed the car and it was super f'in clean inside and out and I told the service writer DO NOT wash my car writing it on the invoice and making him initial it. Its like they do this stuff on purpose so you wont come back. Now I have some things I want to take it in for b4 warr. exp., but i"m too scared it may not be worth it. Theres got to be a way to set them up to be caught if these types of thing happen. Maybe there can be an official thread on tactics to use when visiting the dealer and how to protect yourself from some of the common problems. Hey maybe someone can go dateline nbc on this dealer and set them up with a hidden camera. Like secret shopper or something????? Excuse me while I go vomit.

Well , i turned my old 04 in.
A Credit card was in the center compartment (i know it is my fault) and a day later, iam asked why i needed to spend over $300 only in gas stations on the same day (Same evening, infact). This was not an Acura Dealer but lesson learned.
The most amazing thing is that Visa did not find it imperative to inform us of repeated (Surprisingly Shady) behavior as they have many systems which alert them to the slightest possibility of fraud. They took care of it though.

I've never had anything stolen or shifted from Shittown aka "Smithtown" Acura...
although they do a really good job albeit sloppy/leaving greasy seats behind which I made them take to a detailer 1 week ago to have the entire car detailed on THEIR dime...
anyhow so far Ray the svc mgr runs a tight shop
