What other car beside TL would you buy?

i love my 3G type-S for these reasons:
1. 6MT
2. semi-luxury 4-door sedan
3. excellent handling for FWD
4. fast at highway speeds
5. no governor
honestly i would not buy something else in the same league, as the only complaint i have is FWD. can't see myself buying a BMW (not my style), an Infiniti (they're everywhere) or a Lexus (uninspiring), even if they had MTs.
so that leaves the Audi S4/S6 (or RS4), if they ever bring it back here), and the Cadillac CTS-V, but both of those are a lot pricier. i'd love to see Caddy come out with an ATS-V, that might hit the sweet spot, if there's an MT, no governor, and ~5 second 0-60 time.
otherwise, i'm sticking with the type-S until it falls apart

i have an 08 type-S MT, no governor. i believe the MTs don't have one, but the ATs do. had mine up to 141mph, no shut-off. supposedly it will get up to 153 or something like that before drag limiting.

I need to get my turned off. I have an AT so that's probably why. When I'm driving "in spirited fashion" I put it in manual mode and can easily hit the 135 in 4th gear. The throttle body spacer really made me feel more open at top speeds. I also have a CAI, UR under drive pulley, ATLP jpipe, ATLP HFC and ATLP quads. ...oh and a roof spooner to help me go even faster! Hahaha JK about the roof spoiler.

I picked up my '08 TL five days ago. My decision came down to the TL and G37. I picked the TL primarily due to my experience with Hondas. I had a '84 Accord that I killed at 190K. It would have gone further if I had treated it better. I still have my '94 Accord EX. It has 281K on it. So my personal experience with Honda reliability was huge. I also liked the styling of the TL a little more. The interior layout was more to my tastes in the TL also.
The G had the horsepower and all-wheel drive advantage in the X, but I'm not racing this car and I've gotten through over thirty winters in Pittsburgh without all-wheel drive.
The IS350 was smaller and the GS was much more expensive. The other cars in this segment from Audi, BMW and Volvo just had more reliability concerns and higher cost of owner issues.

Don't shift. I don't think the mods make a difference to what it revs to but it definitely feels nice in fourth over 100mph. It's like it has way more to go. Be careful and glance down at your RPM in 4th, I guarantee its not that high.

It's interesting to see so many guys saying e46 m3. I just sold my tl and lurking around to figure out what I should do. I've had a 99 si civic, 00 s2000, 03 tl types, 07 BMW 335i, 07 g35s, 01 s2000, 04 tl, now my new official daily 94 corolla! Haha. Tbh I'm looking for another s2000 it was overall the best car. The g35 sedan is a good choice if you get the confused year( g37 sedan body with vq35hr motor) except the mpg. I'm trying to find out what makes the e46 m3 a good choice. There's a few for sale in my area.

If I sold my truck and TL I would buy a newer F150 king ranch lariat supercrew.
