What Fog Light Bulbs to Use?

I want to change my stock fog lights to a non-hid bulb that will closer match the color of my headlights. Any suggestions?

Thanks

I tried PIAA - sucked
I tried Silverstar Ultra - Sucked
I tried nokya - Sucked
I tried LED fogs - closest color but poor light output and very focused light...sucked

in the end the only thing that will match HID lights is HID fogs.

Some halogens like PIAA cost as much as an HID kit anyway. If you insist, check out philips diamond vision, theyre not available except through ebay though afaik

Well as far as I know, you can't use a non-HID lamp in an HID lighting system for a number of reasons so that one is out. Next, what year is your car? If it is an '04-'06 and someone has installed an HID kit, that is what you're going to be stuck with. If, on the other hand you have the stock fog lamps in a TL of one of those years, they are not HID lamps at all. So a little more info is needed here.

I have an '04 manual TL and I use Philips Premiums which I have ordered for years from,

http://www.autolamps-online.com/index.htm
http://www.autolamps-online.com/halo...miumcentre.htm

These lamps give off quite a bit more light both to the immediate front and to the sides of the car. If you live in an area where the amount of light you deliver on the road is very important, these are good lamps for the fogs. If you are just interested in looks/cosmetics... well, I can't help you there.

H8 GP Thunder 8500k. I have it in my 5 series and its HID style white color. It matches the stock HID beams. Even though it says its 8500k its more like 4300k. They cost $15.

I just ordered the Nokya H8 55W Artic White Stage 2. I didn't really want to go to all the trouble of converting to HID fogs....

For non-HID bulbs, I go with Nokya. IMO, they're really good bulbs. I remember using those bulbs without a problem for months until I switched them out for HID's.

I had Nokya arctic white fogs on my 06 that matched the factory HID's pretty well. Once I upgraded to ZKW and 6K HID's they didn't match at all. Ended up going with Noyka yellow fogs now, which actually work very well as fog lights when I need them.

How do they match the hids and do you have pics? I ordered a set but have yet to install and was wondering if I should keep or sell them.

Apologies for the late reply, but haven't been on the site in awhile. If you haven't installed your set yet, they are not as white as the HID headlights, almost a slight yellow tinge. They're not as close as I would've liked, but not enough for me to go through the trouble of switching them out.

I want to replace the fog and DRL to a brighter white also any suggestions? or are the Arctic white the best?

Thanks for the update. I think I will put my set up for sale and get the Nokya or Hoen yellow bulbs instead. I don't think I want to get HID fogs.

Are they a deep yellow or just a slight yellow, I've read a few people say the Nokya's were a deeper yellow. If you could post pics that would be great. TIA.

35W and 3000K is 35W and 3000K.

IOW - both should be a similar "JDM" yellow.

I've got both Nokya 7000K and 3000K. I've been running the yellow for the past year or so and like them. The 7000K looked pretty good too.

i put on the hoen xenonmatch yesterday and they def go better with the stock 08 headlights than the original fogs. i wouldn't pay more than $35 for this upgrade though it's not a life changing difference. i didn't want to go yellow and i had read that hoen was preferred over nokya for the white...so far i'm happy (one full day haha)

I like Silverstar bulbs, regardless of opinions they last a good while for me. They aren't a perfect match to the headlights but much whiter than regular halogen. Sellers on ebay have them for under $20 bucks too so that's a plus.
