Angry What the F*CK! Again!!!!!!

Well, if you have been following my other thread (Rear ended NO PLATES!) you know what I have been going throught with that.
I finally got my car back yesterday from the repair shop and the repair and paint job was excellent. Well guess what happened today.....

I was rear ended AGAIN!!!!!!!

I have had the car back from the body shop for only 24 hours and now it has to go back in again!

We were at a stop light and the lady behind me did not realize she let her foot off the brake and rolled into me.
The damage is no where near how bad the first one was. Her front license plate screws left two small dimples and scratches in my brand new rear bumper. So what now. Can they fix it or do I need a new bumper again? Does anyone know?

Two accidents and no plates yet still!!!!

What is wrong with all these other drivers?!?!?!?!

I am so upset, frustrated and bummed at the same time.

DAMN!!! DAMN!!!!!! DAMN!!!!

Dude sorry to hear that!! that blows!!

If the lady did not break the cover, a body shop could use filler and fill the dimples up.

You're SOL If it's cracked or punched all the way through the skin.

Either way that sucks!

i have two dimples in my rear bumper cover. at the time there were no replacement or aftermarket bumpers out there so the est was about 800 bucks to get a new one pained. the shop said if the plastic wasnt cracked they could fix it, but one of the screws went all the way through

Well, the screws did not go through at all. Actually the bumper where the screws hit did not even gouge. They just left two dent impressions like very small dings in the bumper. The paint did scratch though. We both agreed that if she did not have her front plate my car would have come out of this unscathed.

Since it is dark, I can't get a good pic. I will post one tomorrow.

Talk about bad luck. Sorry to hear the bad news again! from what you described, it will be replace with new bumper. I had rear end last week and the bumper had small dent and little scratches, but the shop said that they could not re-manufacture, so they replaced with a new one. Time to trade in for another car if you are superstition enough.

Thanks to everyone for all the nice comments. I have had a chance to calm down a little bit...Also had a few glasses of wine to accelerate the calming effect

I guess it is just one of those things that happens sometimes. I have had a lot of very good luck in the past several years of my life and if this is the worst that happens, then I am coming out way ahead. I mean at least I can afford a TL to drive (even if it is only short periods between body shop visits )

I wonder if those mobile bumper repair guys are any good and if they can fix this type of damage. Anyone had any experience with those services?
If the quality of their work is anything like those paintless dent repair guys, I may be tempted to try them out.

sux man, I ALMOST got rear ended today, sharp stop, I was able to stop in time, mercedes suv behind me skidded to a stop, but then got plowed by the person behind her. Saw/heard the crack and moved the car forward just enough to not get hit by the mercede's momentum.

:shakehead That sucks davenlei! I hope this incident will turn out better than the last one. On the bright side, you know what to do and where to go. Good luck!

Maybe you should consider moving somewhere with better drivers. Now I have to be extra cautious around Irvine. Sorry dude!

You can ask those who have the RJ kit and see if they want to sell their stock bumper cover.

Aznbo187,

Good suggestion... Anyone selling their pristine stock bumper in Anthracite?
If so, PM me what you want. I may be in the market for one.

Np. It may be a little harder to track one, but if you can find it, it will be cheaper and you can always tell the person at fault for the accident just to pay you cash, and with the difference saved (hopefully worthwhile) use that as profit.

People just don't seem to be paying attention at all lately. I had this one lady, about a month back, bump into my BMW X5 with her POS Buick Century. Sat there for a second, looked in my mirror, vented my anger, and went to find out what happened. Best part of it all was when she gets out she asks me "Sir, why were you backing up?" Yea, because I always just pop my cars into reverse when a light turns green and just back up blindly into unsuspecting POS cars like yours ma'am. Long story short, her license plate scratched up the bumper pretty nicely, and knocked one of my backup sensors flying. Oh, and unfortunately, she ran lately meeting her nephew for tea.

Just keep your eyes open everybody, and if you see a buick anywhere near you, do the right thing and get as far away as humanly possibly from it.

Well, I was really slammed at work today and was not able to go get an estimate at lunch. The woman that bumped me actually called me in the afternoon to see if I got the estimate and wanted to know what it was going to cost her. She is the flip side of the first girl that hit my car. The first girl was doing everything to get away without paying to the point she is lying about the accident to her insurance company and this second girl is doing everything to make my life easier and following up to get me the money asap.
So far she has actually made me feel like there are actually good people still out there. I will be getting the estimate tomorrow and will see if she will follow through with paying it. since she has been such a good person about this so far, I am even thinking about letting her pay it over two months to ease the burden for her.

Glad to hear things are working out better this time!

Just get it in writing and have both parties sign the agreement.

As with others, sorry to hear. That's some bad luck.

In regards to finding an Anthracite bumper, try PM'ing the members with the RJ kit.

I feel for ya. Two weeks after getting my 05 TL, some POS hit my car and cracked my bumper in a parking lot and didn't even have the decency to leave a note on my windshield.

Does anyone know of a good body shop in the Boston area where I can get my rear bumper replaced? Is it difficult for them to blend Anthracite paint?

Goldenboy,

Sorry to hear that happened to you. I actually caught a person that did that to my old car and was in the process of pulling away to leave. They got a FAT no insurance ticket (min. $1300+) plus had to pay for my damage.
Regarding matching the Anthracite, my body shop (which is very good) messed it up the first try. It was a few shades too light and the paint flop was wrong. If you go to my other thread (No Plates Rear Ended) you can see a pic of the mismatched bumper. The second time, they made sure they practiced the paint flop on a sample damaged bumper and toned down the color a notch and it matched perfectly to the body. I actually feel like it matched the body color beter than the factory bumper paint did.

Well,

I got an estimate for repairs from the body shop I used for the last damage and it came out to a little over $600. I called the girl and told her the cost and she said she will pay it.

Today she gave me the check for the money. I will be depositing it tomorrow.
