what to expect in 05....

Can you expect this? products on other honda's

some of you would love this, but I personally don't care:

This would be cool:

This will probably happen, is one of the things I personally expect in 05. The RL will have this too.

Enjoy

Probably because there is nothing I can do about it.... because I am not getting a 05TL just to get those features! They look nice though.

the keyless go will be sweet, even sweeter if it could be retrofitted to the 04 TL

Not to come off too stupid here but I didn't understand your pictures. I get the seat folding but what are the other pictures about? cTLgo got "Keless Go" out of them. I'm guessing that's remote starting of the car. I too would like that alot if I could retro-fit it into my 2004 (up to 48 miles on it now!).

2nd pic is an automatic sunshade (they're pretty cool, but not as cool once you get tint)

3rd/4th is "keyless go," which actually means theres no real key- you go up tot he car and a transponder chip probably in your wallet identifies youa nd you press a button to get in. then you just turn a knob to start the car. this feature is found in higher luxury cars (some lexus, mb, bmw) thus far, dunno what other cars have it.

Keyless go will probably not look like that. Also might not be on the 05 TL because it is being introduced on the 05 RL. Exclusivity for the first year seems like the logical step.
Also, That type of keyless go (credit card style) was an issue with mercedes so they stopped producing it. Too delicate and too expensive to replace.
It will probably resemble some type of Key FOB like Infinit's version.

However the fold down seats seems realistic, and maybe the sunshade.

I do, but I know that Acura isn't going to touch the car until at least the 2007 model year. With sales this robust, there's no reason at all to touch it. Ain't broke, don't fix.

the smart card thing is one of the greatest features i think a car can have. i would have paid extra for that feature if it was available for the 04. i snowboard in the winter so the fold down seats would have been nice. the rear center headrest i can do without, its not like there is a whole lot of visibility in the back. adding another headrest just takes away more rear view.

I vote NO NO NO on the sunshade and the fold down seats. Sunshade not worth it since I always tint my cars, but more to the real point, the fold down seats would just create more rattles and creeks (of which I have none).

gunmetal that last pic is to show you how the "true keyless entry" works. You have that little card with you. When you get into the "zone" around the car it activates it and you can unlock the car or trunk. Once inside you sit down and turn the spot were a key would have been. Hope this helps.

Looks like many of you can read japanese because I had no clue what that picture was saying. It looked like a piece of plastic made by Honda and if I wasn't mistaken the person in the picture is being teleported about 3-4 feet to the door of his car. So...if Honda makes something like that, they have scored a big one with trekkie fans and Scotty would be proud.

Comment on the 04/05 issue

When should we start to hear about the changes, if they are going to be any? I'm sure we all won't be blinded until they actually come off the assembly line, off the trucks, and onto the lots until we know what is changed or not? Personally i think i'm going to wait anyway, by it being so far into the year with the 04's. I'd hate to invest my money into an 04TL where i could prolly just spend maybe a few more hundred dollars (if that much) for a brand new 05TL with hopefully some changes. Even if they're minor, it would be good. And also hoping they correct all the issues that's going on with the 04's now.

2004 Acura TL/ 5AT/ Nighthawk Black Pearl/Camel (in the making...)

Maybe it's some kind of "Pedestrain proximity sensor" to warn you of approaching Valets, Car Salesmen, Kids-Selling-Candy and Homeless people.

Or maybe it's a self-arming electrocution devise for those annoying people who leave flyers under your wipers and business cards in your door-seals when you're shopping. I got one from a Psychic one day, so I called them up...

"You're not a very good Psychic, are you?" I said.
"What? Why would you say that?" they said.
"If you were a good Psychic, you should have known how much this would annoy people!"

If its a rattle, it would be easier to get to.....creaks well....stuck with those anyway.

Does anybody know when the 05 Tl will be released? Is there anyway to confirm that the keyless start will come with the car?
