what exhaust system

I am wondering whats better get a comptech cat back system or have some exhaust shop make one or just replace things on the stock system. I am looking for more power and deep rumble noise out of the car?????

Frankly, you're not going to get much of a power gain because the stock exhaust system is already pretty decent.. in terms of flow. And you cannot install headers on our engines so that eliminates the pre-cat side. If money is no problem and you really want to squeeze out the best from your exhaust, have a custom shop rig a system with h-flow cats and really good straight thru mufflers (with perforated cores). friskoplayer suggests MagnaFlow and I'm with him here. Their products are top drawer.

Have fun and let us know what you decide to do.

I deleted the resonator and mid muffler. Then put a set of magnaflows on. With all custom piping. I had the stock tips welded on. Fuckin car sounds great...

I would go with Trancemission did, except I would put the HKS Ti mufflers instead, I think they sound better.

If you want a factory replacement without needing to do custom pipes and etc, and if you're willing to wait a few months you should wait for GReddy's system they will be manufacturing. Here's the thread link:

They are just starting the process. I am dropping my car of at the their facilities this Thursday, they will design a prototype by Friday 7/6/07 and then ship out the prototype to Japan to have them manufacture the production version.

click the VIDEO link in my sig to see/hear a video of a stock exhaust with the mid-muffler removed and the resonator replaced with a shorter one....

IMHO, sounds great. I'm gonna finish it off with magnaflow mufflers and call it a day at that!
