What does the color of your 04 say about you?

What does the color of your 04 say about you?
Is the TL a sporty Luxury Car or a luxurious Sports Car?
I think it's a sporty Luxury Car.
Luxury cars don't offer red. Have you ever seen a bright red Rolls, Bentley, MBZ, Cadillac, Lexus, Maxima, Infiniti, or TL that wasn't a repaint? Certain colors seem to be off-limits for cars aimed at the luxury market.
Sports cars, on the other hand, usually sport brighter colors including the international racing colors of their countries of origin: England: green; Italy: red; Germany: silver; US: blue/white; Japan: ???. They also come in bright yellow and fire engine red. No limits.
Re: Jaguar. Yes, indeed. That IS a proper British Racing Green and it is not up for alteration or negotiation. It's tradition.
Black is all colors put together (additive). It makes a statement: quiet grace, luxury, stealth, class, secretive, inscrutable and a little diabolical.
White is the absence of color. It makes a statement of purity, cleanliness, innocence, heavenly, eternal.
Silver is the color of precious metal. Wealth, security, sparkle, bling-bling, showy, ostentatious, pride.
Red is the color of blood. In-your-face, danger, excitement, edgy, give-me-a-ticket, look out!, look at me, and f--k you!
Blue is the color of the ocean and sky. Peaceful, serene, mother-love, comfort, you love me, I love you, gentle.
What does your TL's color say about you? What do you want it to say?

You are probably in a well-grounded profession, are a Virgo, and like to dress in women's clothing when no one is around. (Not that there's anything wrong with that!)
j/k. Don't go off. :lol1:

XP,
Interesting views. I would like to point out that Nissan Maximas did come out with a bright red factory paint job about 10 years ago back when they were labed "4 door sports car". They sold about 3 of them all together. I remember how hideous they looked and they have smarted up.
And yeah, I have the WDP which shouts old, slow and flatulent.

If you wanted to take your mother and father out for a formal anniversary dinner, do you think they would consider either of those cars as luxury cars if they sat in back and you drove down a bad road? Their false teeth would be imbedded in their knees.
The G35 sedan is a bit bigger but I don't think it comes in red.
I have a 3 series BMW. It is a compact car. It doesn't hold a candle to the TL for space and comfort and, dare I say, luxury? (It is fun to drive, however!)
Just my opinion.

Infiniti's red on the G35 is as fire engine as anything. The X-type Jag has TWO different reds...both pretty bright.
I like the Acura RRP....it's definitely red...but not quite "arrest me" red. Let's me have my mid-life crisis and still be relatively sane about it!

Yes, I like the Acura dark, metallic red also.
I consider the x-type Jag to be a Ford Taurus at high tea. Many marques make luxury models but not all their models are luxury. To wit: Acura RL, TL, RSX. MBZ S, E, C. BMW 3, 5, 7. Lexus IS, ES, LS, etc.
Red is a fine color. My RX7 was red. My BMW is red. It just doesn't look good on a luxury sedan, IMO. And, it's extremely rare.

BTW, not saying it looks GOOD in that color... just that it's available.

Well I live in the central valley in Ca.and it gets real HOT in the summer and on top of that its also dusty,So my choice on colors is on the limited side(did not really want to wash my car every day)So my choices came down to WDP,SSM or DMM.Did you say Bling Bling.. :lol2:

Even though it is the least popular color of TLs, it is very practical and very easy on the eyes. It is big in Billings, Montana where it stands out from the snowbank and the bison think it's one of their own.

I don't know if Silver makes you an attention whore considering the number of silver cars out on the road now. It's more of a "I'm too lazy to wash my car every day because every single speck of dust shows up on white and black" That's just my opinion anyway.

Deep Green Pearl sez "I'm unique, sophisticated and have class".
The main reason is because of the rarity of the color. There's countless millions of silver, gray, blue, and white cars out there that don't stand out quite as much from the crowd simply because of their sheer color numbers.
My 2¢ .

Anthracite says:
"I really wanted SSM but only those dusty Ebony and rent-a-car Quartz interiors were available so I chose the other silver color that came with a lighter interior choice."
