Don't want to threadjack too much. My wreck was at the corner of Russell and West Cedar, the last intersection before the light at King Street, and I was heading towards King. Traffic was backed up for the red light and so I stopped short of the intersection at Cedar so as not to block the box. Glad I did: Some high-school girl in her mother's Volvo 240 wagon came over the speed hump at 25 mph and drove right into the back of my Accord. I still assume she was playing with her phone or some such because there's no way any sane driver paying a smidgen of attention could have failed to see the stopped cars. At least by not blocking the box I was able to spin the steering wheel around so the car jumped a curb and knocked over a stop sign; had I blocked the intersection, I would have been pancaked into the car in front of me. What pissed me off all the more was that she was able to drive away. The dumbshit Alexandria cop's accident report focused more on the damage to city property (the knocked-down stop sign) than on the facts, but it did establish that she was at fault.

Come to think of it, to tie this post into the subject of the thread, my Accord was a two-door car and didn't have memory seats or memory for the power mirrors. Because it was a two-door car, I was always fiddling with the position of the driver's seat when I put stuff into the back seat or took stuff out (e.g., put a briefcase behind the driver's seat; lay my jacket back there because I don't drive with a suit jacket on; stuff like that). Two doors look sporty, but the TL has made me appreciate having four doors in terms of being a more useful design, and the memory function for the seat and the mirrors is great for the rare circumstances when the driver's seat gets moved by the mechanic or because I'm cleaning or I drop something and have to move the seat to retrieve it.

I know the memory function is mundane because many cars have it, but thinking of my old car made me realize how nice it is and how you come to take it for granted.

It's easy to work on, but it generally doesn't need much work. Good combination of economy (after it's paid for), performance, comfort and looks.

the overall outside look and design of the car - nothing but looks and smiles from other drivers! this week a old dude in a 6 series BMW gave me the "your car looks nice" nod

the leather seats - compared to my brothers BMW and fathers altima...TL is amazing. great for the drive to NYC from Toronto.

Stock HID's is a +

good size sedan

fast as hell - finally took it to 200KMH

all the mods that can be done! none i seen that are just shit and should be jailed!

and being apart of this forum! BIG!

This forum. I honestly would care so much less about my car if I hadn't discovered Acurazine. I've learned so many different things about cars, maintenance, modding, etc. This site is the BEST web forum I've ever come across, and is filled with a bunch of good guys. As for what I love most on my car- not sure. The engine is rock-solid reliable. The interior is best in class. Still. Comparing a 2011 3 series interior to my 2005 TL is laughable. And maintenance is fairly cheap and it shares many parts with the Accord V6, so I can stop by my local Honda dealer to get parts.

Hmmm...I like that most of the 3G TL's I run into are mostly stock driven by older people. But when they see mines, they can respect & appreciate the hard work I've done to keep it looking simple/clean. Especially being younger at 23yrs old, they probably were expecting to see me rice it out lol. Back on topic, I love everything about this car, it rocks!

x2, and actually around my part of town i've only seen 1 modded TL perhaps ever as well

Even though it has a few minor things setting it back, the car is still amazing and I'm looking forward to keeping it for a long time! (hopefully 8-10 years )

I love the ride quality. Everytime I approach an apex and tickle the traction limit, I close my eyes and imagine that this must be what it feels like to ride on the back of a ninja. I only open my eyes again if I don't hear any screams, as this usually means I won't have to call my insurance agent.

Add to list: the resale value of any Acura really. The fact that I could probably get $14,000 for it after 6 years and 100,000 miles is excellent.

I agree with most of the previous comments.....

As for me being an old Fuc$er........... My car has been bullet-proof....

One sensor = $250..... frt pads, didn't turn the rotors, six qts of Z-1 and a few switches for the tranny...........

119K .........

I have $1,000's in mods and a few $100 in repairs

imo, the best looking car ever built. I just got mine recently and can never take my eyes off mine cuz it looks so damn sexy. You can't ask for better styling and performance from a car like this.
