What to do? TL-s or old base model

I currently have a 04 silver TL w/81000 miles, base. I found a 07 TL-S white for $25,900 w/45000 miles. Should I trade or should i be content with what I have? I dont have money to put down, because if I did I would have an A-spec kit and lowering springs by now. I am happy with the car and plan to keep it for a long time but this sounds like a deal I can't pass up. What to do?

If that is from a dealer, it's a fair price. You may be able to get them down a little more. See here on Edmunds:

http://www.edmunds.com/used/2007/acu...25/prices.html

You may want to plug in your zip code and re-check it.

Does your 04 have Navi? Of course the 07 will have MP3 capability and more HP, just to name a couple of things. If your the original owner, you have been in that car for about 5 years and perhaps it's time to upgrade.

It's at a dealership but not an Acura one. My TL does not have navi and I am the 2nd owner. I have put 40000 miles on it in 2 years.. I drive 100 miles a day all highway. The gas mileage might not be to good with the TYpe-S though.

I'd stick with what you have, but that's me. Do you owe anything on yours? If you don't have a huge chunk of cash to throw at the TL-S, I wouldn't bother. IMO, it's not a big enough difference to go further in debt over.

Ya it would jump payments up to 420 or so a month if they don't lower the price.. I don't really need that. unless I can get it down to $23,000 or lower. I owe $16,800 left on the car. so.. I don't know... they might pay off mine and give me a loan for the rest. I really wanna see myself behind the wheel of a type-s. I guess I could wait a couple of years?

well type S are going quickly and there will always be someone trying to get rid of theirs so its definitely a possibility later down the road. I have a 08 Type S 6mt with 8,000 miles with 2 18x8 and 2 18x8.5 aspecs in the garage to go on it. I have tein SS and Progress rear sway etc and already looking to get rid of mine. I am hesitating on doing the whole turbo thing on this car and i want more power and a RWD.

That sounds like a great car. We are always wanting more aren't we. I remember the day I drove off the lot with my TL, I was soooo happy and stoked about my new car that I thought I would never own.. then I saw a sick 350z and was like.. damn I want that.. so.. I guess I'll allways envy other cars.. I just think this is kind of a good deal.. but if I wait till next year.. the price will lower.. but so will my trade in value

I hate to break it to you, but there's no way a dealer will give you a $16k+ trade for an 04. I think you'd be lucky to get much more then $13k on trade.

Won't even get $13k. A 2004, non navi, with 81k miles is probably 10-11k on trade in.

Keep what you have. They aren't going to budge much on the TL-S, demand is to high for them at the moment, you have no money down, and will be rolling $5-$6k of negative equity into the loan as well.

Not worth it.

I'm going to drive my 2006 TL into the ground. It's too nice of a car to just trade. I dont race or anything just occasional stomp on gas pedal stints other than that it's just my daily driver.
