As with most car companies, orders for Acura vehicles are placed far in advance of the actual build date. Cars scheduled for a December build were ordered back in October, and so a mid January build is appropriate for an order placed in early November...

As the anthracite/ebony 6MT is a fairly common combo with the 6MT (more so than the Anthracite w/ quartz or camel), your dealer may be able to swap another 6MT w/ navi they have coming in for an earlier car w/ your specs. With the shortage of navi, and the popularity of that color combo, I don't think the chances are great, but it won't hurt to try!

Good luck!

There are very few 6MT w/Navi being built. My dealership is only having 2 per month so that is probably a realistic time frame..Any client of mine that wants this vehicle, I tell them to put the deposit on it now, I had someone who said he was ready to get one within 30 days (I had his color choice also), when I called him he stated he was only in the first stages. So now the fool is waiting until February.

It's not very professional to refer to your client as a fool. But what do you expect from a Terps fan???

Wow, hope the "fool" isn't trolling these forums or he'll for sure purchase his car elsewhere and probably bash your dealership via all sorts of means - including this forum.

If it were me and I was a salesman who just posted that....I would probably edit it out.

You still don't get it, do you? You're in the service industry where the customer is always right, within reason. You being an Acura salesman and then coming on this forum and spouting off about how this customer is a fool or that customer is a fool reflects poorly on you as a salesman and reflects poorly on your dealership. Wonder if your sales manager would think differently about you if he knew you publicly called one of your customers a fool on a public forum, huh? Wouldn't be difficult to figure out which dealership you're affiliated with, that's for sure.

Just because a customer....one of your customers isn't ready to make a deal doesn't make him a "fool".

Give me a courteous, respectful and honest salesman any day of the week over someone who thinks all his customers are fools...and I'll buy cars off of him for life.

Let me explain something, if you or anyone has done their homework, then you know how hard these vehicles are to obtain. In the above case, I received a e-mail request that this "gentleman" wanted to buy this vehicle in one month. I did the research and we had this exact vehicle in stock in his color choice. I did the follow-up with him that the vehicle was here in stock. He then replied that he was just in the first stages (he was just tire kicking). I explained nicely that we only get 2 vehicles in this model per month and that if he waited, it would be at least February. He replied that he would wait. In my opinion, it's his loss because I don't know when I'll see another vehicle like this come in. So if one is just shopping around, why would one send a email stating he wants to buy in a month if he isn't ready to do anything.

Tripp, while you have a right to your opinion, I have a right to mine, please don't question that.

It doesn't matter whether the guy was a fool or not. This guy can call his customers fools all he wants as long as he doesn't do it publicly. I am not in the sales business, but if I was and this guy worked for me, and I found out about his being unprofessional on a public forum, I would can his ass, in a heartbeat. Just my 2 cents. His attitude towards customers will bite him in the ass eventually. What goes around, comes around.
