What color to paint the chrome pieces?
So I have the MRP Type S in the picture below. I would like to paint the chrome parts, including the entire grill, the two chrome parts near the fog lights, and the chrome part above the license plate. My only question is what color? On the NBP it is is, you go all black. What about on an MRP? Should I just black it out or go MRP?
Thanks,
Thanks,

i'd black it out, something you could repaint later, after a while all the rock/stone chips will get to you, especially when the chrome underneath starts showing. i say black it out cuz for one i think it would look better, and second i think it would be hard to find a good MRP match in a can. and if you ever decide to black out the headlights it would be a better look all around.

My TL can do this, too!

Wait a couple of days, I have a RRP and I am having the bits painted to match the body color i.e. color match. I'll post pictures once installed to give you an idea as to how it would look

if ur doing it then do it...ur not wasting a lot of money the only thing u have to do it remove the chrome with chemicals....i use afta or hybond it removes it clean and doesnt make the rag you're using leave sticky lint on it and then a plastic primer. and your black paint. either way cant wait to see pics.

yes sir....very strong stuff we use it at my shop for cleaning spots on headliners n stuff... u can use it for cleaning anything... it rips wax right off of paint so if u use it to take off road tar make sure u put the wax right back on. aaaand once i cleaned the steering wheel with it to get the dirty n grime off and it did a great job it even took the chrome off the "A" emblem

nope its a commercial product. hybond and afta are for interior shops or audio shops that do little upholstery.... the stuff you find at home depot isnt that strong.... this is hybond i odnt know where to get it other than my distributor.http://www.lincolnsentry.com.au/File.../Hybond_80.pdf
this stuff is super strong literally a drop rips the chrome right off.

I would agree. Paint the chrome piece in the middle & it should look sweet.
I wouldn't paint it MRP and I wouldn't paint the whole grill black either.
Just black out the middle except for the A. Then your done.
