What % tint should I get?
Hey all,
I have been searching this forum for a solid thread that will show me the various options of tint for a SSM TL, I have yet to find one. I was wondering, what % of tint should I go with if i'm planning on wrapping my roof as well? (Metallic black). In NC, the tint is supposed to be at 35%, but I don't have an issue with going any lower. Can't go lower than 20% though, the tint shop that i'm going with uses Huper-Optik tint. What are your

^^^^ LMFAO that you mention it but I thought it was 5% when I bought it but the more I drive it the more darker the interior looks and not until the state inspection I found out it was 2.5% tint.

On silver, don't go too dark. Looks ghetto.
I say go for 30% max.
My car has 35% F1 tint and my roof is wrapped black too.

Thanks for asking this. I was going to ask about it myself.
I have a silver TL and was thinking 20 or 35 all around, but 5 on the rear and back and 20 on the front windows.
Let me know what you decide and post some pictures for science!

We did 35% on my wife's cause she wanted to be able to see out better at night. My Expedition is blacked out and it is very hard to back up, etc at night.
She has black interior as well. Just get a good, quality tint like 3M. You pay for it, but its worth it when it blocks almost all the heat and all the UV. They can even put a clear tint on the windshields now to reflect all the heat there too. I just didn't go that far. But we DID do our moonroof. Its nice to be able to open it for light and not get scorched.

Totally. Always get a good quality tint along with mole felt to prevent it from scratching. There is nothing worse than a bad looking tint job and that stuff isnt easy to remove!

I recommend 20% as well. Anything lower than that may look a little too ghetto as others have stated. I had 10% on my previous car and it was very hard to see at night. Not to mention that I couldn't see jack squat out of my rear view mirror at night...

Don't break any laws. That should be enough.
