Weird Transmition Noise
Weird Transmition Noise
Hey guys,
Got my 2005 TL Automatic Transmition in October, currently has 2500 miles on it. I am experiencing an odd problem which I never noticed before so I assume it's something new. When driving and I reach speeds between 40ish and 60ish I hear a distinct whine coming from the car. The only thing I can pinpoint it to is the transmition. It happens at those speeds, so I assume the car is making the noise when it's in a certain gear. I could make the noise happen constantly when I go a certain speed and hold the gas steady at that speed, if I slow down or speed up it fades away and completly disappears if I go very fast, or very slow.
Any ideas? I want to take the car in, but I can't take any time off this week, and I am taking a road trip on Monday and can't take it in until I get back.
Thanks in advance.

You should check GARAGE first... it's helpful...
SOME of 5ATs MIGHT make "droning" sound while RPM is around 1500 RPM, especially at 5th gear? This is Acura 3G TL's characteristic issue. You could check here...

Thank you. After reading the threads you linked, it seems that this is indeed what I am experiencing. I will take it in to the shop to have it looked at once I get back from my road trip.
