Weekend Accident

So I went to the coast this weekend and left my car at home in my brothers hands, and well... I came home to see my car with the front bumper hanging off. I made my brother go in and get quotes and they're saying there's at least $1500 in damage to the front bumper and hood. But from looking at it the only thing that looks wrong with the hood is that it doesn't close ALL the way. Does anyone have any suggestions for what I should do? I kinda wanted to get a S-type bumper anyways but idk how expensive everything would be. I have pictures of my car to post but I don't know how to resize them. Let me know what you guys think I could/should do with ~$1500. I have a friend that does body work so he could paint/install as well if that makes a difference.

Someone backed into me while I was at school and ruined the front bumper and my hood. My right quarter panel had a small dent as well and body shops all around me want $1500-$1900 to fix it.

THATS WITH me supplying a bumper. I say that price sounds pretty fair.

My car goes to the body shop next week, they are fixing my hood and bumper and removing the dent from the quarter panel.

That prices sounds fair to me. To paint a bumper cover alone is $500. Throw in some R&R time plus hood paint and repair, it can easily be $1,200-1,500. Paint associated materials have skyrocketed in price over the past couple years.

Alright thank you guys! If everything thinks the price is fair that's great and I'll probably just go with the body shop. But I was just wondering if anyone thinks I could replace the bumper with a type-s bumper for $1500?

oh ya and i need to replace the grill. Thinking about replacing with a cmod. What are your opinions on those?

You might want to make sure there isn't any damage under the bumper cover as well. As far as the Type-S bumper cover, it will fit. Since you need a grill anyway, I would go with the Type-S as well. I would pull the BC and inspect for damages. You can drive it to the body shop with the BC removed, just have to support the inner fenders. I drove mine around town w/out when I ran out of plasti dip blacking out my grill. I got some strange looks, oh well.

Just pay your insurance deductible (or let your brother pay for it), and get everything done? You shouldn't be worried about price going this route.

Why would you pay your insurance deductible over something so small? Paying $1500 now is much cheaper than your rates being high for X amount of years.
