Weather Tech floor mats?

My friend has Weather Tech floor mats in both of his cars and likes them. They are a little pricey but keep your carpet super clean. Has anyone got these for their TL and do you like them and does the tan match well? If the tan isnt exact, I may go with the black ones.

I have black ones, with black interior. I live in Colorado so the winters are pretty messy. Every now and then I take the weather techs out and hose them off. The carpet underneath is in perfect shape. Since they are made specifically for your car they curve up on the sides so everything is protected not just the floors.

I have the OEM all season mats, and I'm very satisfied... and it has the TL logo on them.

Yeah, I saw those on ebay. They are rubber though right? or hard plastic. I am worried that with the humidity here in Texas that mildew under the rubber would be an issue.

Got 'em and love 'em!! Well worth it if you can find them on sale. Tan mats/parchment interior.

Check out the pricing at Mudflaps.com. They were the cheapest deal when I was shopping for them. Don't know if that still holds true or not.

Good discussion in this thread:

The WeatherTech's protect the carpet better, but the OEM all-weather mats look 10x better IMO and do a great job. Yes, the OEM's are rubber, but I've never experienced any condensation issues....I don't live in TX though.

If you can buy the Weather Tech Digital Fit, get the Weather Techs Digital Fit. Best Floormats you can buy.

I have the OEM rubber ones and they work great. I've never had the Weathertech, but have been very happy with the OEMs. You are going to get lots of votes for either or. My vote is for the OEM...........

I've got the Weather Tech Digital Fit interior cabin mats and I have the OEM All Season trunk mat as well. Never experienced the OEM for the cabin interior so i can't really compare the 2 materials in that aspect. But judging from pictures, the Weather Tech mats have much higher sidewalls which would mean you are less likely to get debris and water underneath the Weather Techs. The OEM mats barely look like they have sidewalls. If you are in a pretty crappy climate state I'd imagine the Weather Tech offers a better product.

They are pricey but well worth it. I take them out, either wipe them down or spray them down with a hose. Then wipe dry or just let it air dry for 15 minutes. Extremely durable and my mats underneath look brand new.

Yup.

The OEM sucks compared to the Digital Fit Floorliners.

+1. In the Winter here they were super nice. Take them out, spray some APC on them and just rinse off. Carpet is perfect underneath.

If it matters to you, Weathertech is an American company that has all of their production performed in-house on American machinery. Company ethics seem to be pretty high.

Thumbs up

OP-

I have a TL with a tan interior as well, and I went with the WeatherTech Digital Fit mats as soon as I got my car. Best mats I've ever used, even better than the OEMs because they have a higher lip around the edges, preventing snow slush and water from getting onto the carpet underneath. And they are a SNAP to clean as well.

One suggestion, though: don't buy tan mats. Getting tan mats when your carpet and interior is already tan makes your car look fugly. Do what I did and go for the black ones- it makes the car look a lot more sleek and complements your dash a lot more than having the entire car interior be the same bland tan color.

I have oem all weather mats front and back. If I would do it over I would go oem up front and digital liner at the back because i like that the hump is also covered.
Maybe something to think about.

+1 I have that setup.

black oem mats up front and digital fit in the rear, also black. Looks great imo and the hump in the back is covered. My interior is "camel" which is an orangish tan.

I have a 08 with taupe colored interior. I have the digital fit mats in black. Had them within the first month of owning the car. Love them, wish my carpet was black.

I like the idea that the mats will keep your floors 100% clean, but I don't like the look it gives.

It just looks off.

I like the look of my carpet mats so much I bought new ones.

I have a set of tan digital fit with a parchment interior, would probably have gone with black if I had to do it again, but definitely worth it.

I don't like how they look
Stock ones are the best
I live in Boston, most of the time rain + snow + salt (which turnes the cloth in to white)

When summer comes, just spray and clean it with those carpet cleaner... perfect
since 2006, it still looks clean

I have the WeatherTech Digital Fits too....they are awesome I highly reccomend them if you can afford them. I also have the trunk liner from WeatherTech and it fits like a glove and helped alot recently when an entire bottle of liquor cracked open in my trunk

Can't really say the stock ones are the best when you have never seen the Digital Fit in person can you? And they look a lot better then the OEM mats in person.

This is a no-brainer. If you have the money, Weathertech Digital Fit Floorliners. It covers nearly everything, unlike the OEM mats.

I did. Yeah they look nice the quality and everything but I just don't like it covering everything. I don't know may be I want my nice looking pedals to be seen completely.

If you use all season mats for couple months for winter, might be ok but I use them all the time. Can't trust spring or summer in here Boston..
I still haven't use my normal mats since 6 years

i have the digital fit. they work great for protecting carpet and look good too IMO. nice power wash to them occasionally to get all the crap that builds up on it definately makes them keep doing what they were designed to.

Check out eBay. I got the digital fit for less than what weathertech website had them for and got em in like 2 days. Got mine maybe 2 months ago and coming from a Texan, I haven't experienced any moisture problems. Only negative thing I have to say about them is that they do tend to slide a bit more than I like. That and you have to buy cleaning products for them through weathertech

+1

And not even a brush. I had weathertechs in my E36 and all I would do is spray them with Simple Green, let them sit for 10-15min and then hose them off. They looked BRAND NEW again. This is also including spilled soda , which is why I let them wit for a bit.

Unless I missed it, has any one had BOTH weather tech & oem rubber? Thoughts?

My bad.. Let me rephrase... It is recommended. Last time I cleaned them I just used a wet rag. Worked just fine for me.. No need to pressure wash mine.

Hmm... I would've thought simple green would've been a little too strong for the mats. Guess I'll give that a try if it comes to the point where a wet rag doesn't do the job

As of a couple days ago I picked up a set of the weathertech mats, and I used the OEM all-seasons over this past winter.

I think I like the look of the OEM better, and they seemed to handle what I through at them over the course of the mild winter, but obviously not nearly as much as the weathertechs would hold. The higher walls of the weathertech mats are certainly nice, but I can't help but think like it takes a little of the luxury feel away from the interior. On the flip side, when taking them out after winter I'm sure it would look exactly as it had in the fall, which would be nice.

Now I just need to decide which mats I want to keep and which to toss on the black market.

Why not use both?

Lay the weathertech digital fit mats down and place the OEM all-season mat over it.

You get the protection from the digital fit mats because the side walls are high, and you also get the OEM look because you're still using the all-season mats. If you decide to do that, can you post a picture of how it looks lol

Those are the basic All-season mats. The one we're talking about is the Digital Fit Floorliners-- a lot different.

x2. I have black Digi-fits in my 2012 with Black interior and they look great.

Have the tan Digi-fits in our recently purchased 2005 with Camel interior and would probably have ordered black if I could do it over. The Tan digi-fit mats are more of a light brown color and do not match anything in the interior. Doesn't look bad....but not as close as I feel it should have been.

eh....I think I like the all season mats better...those digital fits would cover up my nice supercomputers dead pedal! They seem that they do protect a bit more of the carpet...but I really do not like how its one solid piece in the back
