We need a "how to:" thread!

Im also on the srtforums and we have a ever nice section for all the how to's. People post pictures and what not. One of the board members should create one. Its hard to find some of the mods and how to do them. Or just as easy as flushing your trans, or other issues.

I usually frown upon the above remark, but this time I'm gonna have to agree with it.

am i blind and completely missing it?

i mean yeah you could use the search button, but it makes it ten times easier if you organize it all into one section.

well it makes a lot of sense.. not only that but itll be easier for use new to the acura help us determine what we can and cannot do.

Thats how i learned about my last car. the SRT-4 which i still have. They have it all split up into like audio install, visual, engine mods, and so forth. it helps out alot of the even less mechanically enclined people work on there own cars.

like myself. id eventually like to put aftermarket speakers, and possibly the fog light mod and so forth. its just a pain to find all that now..

being a mod should come with somewhat of a challenge like creating a new part of the site. if we just kept the same threads we have now the site would eventually die.

I think AZ's is pretty well organized. Its all separated into categories, plus its all 1 page so you can use your browsers search and look for key words.

Here is one of the how-to forums that BlackSrt is referring to: http://www.srtforums.com/forums/f75/

It's heavily moderated and updated. The original posts are generally 100% of the info needed. I've struggled with the 3g garage and DIY's in there since joining AZ. Many of them require reading countless pages of discussion to understand a process, and many have expired images.

I love AZ now that I'm an acura owner, but I definitely second BlackSrt's suggestion.

i agree. the 3G garage is not updated often (if at all) and i find it frustrating at times. but i do like how it is organized. all on one page.

- again.

I've sent several posts to the attention of Mods and/or RonA about a Garage worthy thread. The response has always been quick and usually positive.

If we are short on DIY's or Updated info for the 3G, it's on the members, not the moderators.

That said the Garage could use a good cleaning - some stuff has broken links, missing photos, etc. But I guess pointing those out, revising them, etc is on the membership too.

yeah... some of them are just really random discussions that scrape the surface of the topic at hand... quite annoying to read actually

Yeah, 3G has been useful, but it does need a good updating.

Instead of letting the man to go thread-by-thread through the garage, help out; contribute to improve or add threads, point out inadequate threads, requesst DIY's that you'd find useful, etc.

Take some ownership instead of expecting AJ to do all the work. It's easy to complain when you don't have to do any of the work.

i agree. and all the people who are actually modding there tl's like putting fog lights in a car that doesnt have them, or navi, audio or other installed.. just something as simple as changing spark plugs and changing trans fluid.

i mean all the little things that people know could really help out the rest of the community. like for instance myself. id love to change my own trans fluid on this car, and ive done it on the SRT4. the way i learned was actually seeing it on our forums. its nice knowing all the sizes of tools you need and so forth. its also nice having pictures where everything is at.
