Okay, I just got this car on April 3rd. It's WDP and I love it, but I've noticed something that is really irritating me.

At the place where the rear bumper seem meets the side, there seems to be a small difference in paint color between the rear bumper and the side of the car. I'm not sure if my eyes are playing tricks on me or not. I know the WDP paint changes in the light/dark. I can't tell if it's the angle I'm looking from or if I'm being too picky. It may be the seem that is throwing me off. This is a brand new car, had 10 miles on it at delivery so I doubt anything has been repainted. Just curious to see if anyone else has noticed this on a WDP. To me the bumper looks more of a yellowish white and the car a brighter white (even after I washed the car today).

Any ideas??

welcome to AZ. please do a search before posting next time. this has been discussed at length in the past already.

short answer, yes, a lot of WDP have this color flaw. it has to do with the difference in materials used for the body and the bumper.

Is it possible that the dealer could repaint this to make it match a little better?

I have an appt at the service department Monday. I hope they will offer to repaint because I'll gladly let them do it. Yours looks much better, I hope I get the same result.

welcome to the forum.

good luck on getting it re-sprayed. you might even consider printing out my previous thread and showing it to the service manager if he gives you trouble trying to get it done.

it's a widely known problem with both Acura and Honda vehicles. most dealers have dealt with this before and basically expect customers to come back. that being said, they're not going to do it without the customer noticing it first.

edit... also I thought I'd add this in there... make sure you get them to mask off the parts of the bumper that don't get paint. I had some problems with overspray on the black plastic exhaust cutouts because they were negligent in masking it off correctly

Yes, your car looks much better, I can really tell the difference. Based on my experience with Honda, it may be a hassle and I'm dreading it. If they do not agree to fix it, I'll be speaking with the General Manger and so on. If I had noticed this before, I have gone with the Red Pearl color. Now I'm driving an expensive car that the parts won't even match up and it makes me sick!
My sales experience was perfect though so I'm hoping the service dept can
