Was warranty extended due to odometer optimism?

Sorry if this is already covered somewhere -- I searched and couldn't find it. Has our warranty been extended 4-5% because of a class action suit regarding Honda/Acura odometers? My particular concern is an 05 TL with 51,500 miles on the odo and apparently in need of a new CV joint/axle! Thanks.

JDM is right. Here is the bulletin, copied off of ISIS. Sorry I can't get the PDF to work. I bolded/underlined the "important" parts that the dealer can do to verify that you are indeed included (though you should be, regardless)

Applies To: See VEHICLES AFFECTED
Warranty Extension: Vehicle Warranty Mileage
(Supersedes 06-050, dated January 22, 2008, to update the information marked by the black bar)
BACKGROUND
On December 29, 2007, a federal court provided final
approval of the settlement of a class action lawsuit
alleging that the odometers on certain 2002 through
2006 Acura models were overstating mileage. As part
of the settlement, American Honda is extending the
mileage-based coverage period of all warranties, Acura
Care Service Contracts, and Acura Certified
Pre-owned Vehicles by 5 percent on the above
referenced vehicles.
The time limits for all warranties are unchanged.
VEHICLES AFFECTED
The vehicles affected by this settlement include certain
2002 through 2006 Acura models purchased or
leased between April 13, 2002, and November 7,
2006. The affected region is the United States
(including the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and
the U.S. Virgin Islands). Affected vehicles registered to
clients with a military or a NATO address are also
included in this settlement.
The most effective way to check a vehicle’s
warranty coverage is by a VIN status inquiry.

CLIENT NOTIFICATION
American Honda notified affected clients by mail or
publication. The notices were sent to original registered
purchasers, informing them of the terms of the
settlement. Notice was also published in a national
newspaper.
To view the content of the mailed notice, as well as
other documents regarding the settlement, or for
additional information, please refer to these sources:

CORRECTIVE ACTION
On affected vehicles, the settlement requires you to
honor a 5 percent increase in the mileage coverage
period for all warranties, all Acura Certified Pre-owned
Vehicles, and those Acura Care Service Contracts
purchased only by the original owners.
WARRANTY CLAIM INFORMATION
Use the chart below as a reference for converting most
standard warranty mileage limits to the extended
mileage coverage.
Use the chart on page 2 as a reference to all service
bulletins affected by the extended mileage coverage.
In addition to the 5 percent mileage increase in
warranty coverage, any repair performed after warranty
expiration may be eligible for goodwill consideration by
the District Parts and Service Manager or your Zone
Office. You must request consideration, and get a
decision, before starting work.

yep,

Pohanka Acura confirmed I am covered for about another 600 miles (to 52,500). Good timing in my case... reckon the settlement probably saved me $500+(?). Thanks again for the replies.

March 4 Update

Made appointment and took car in on a mild Saturday a couple weeks ago, and the tech couldn't duplicate problem. Service Advisor asked if I'd mind driving the technician around to demonstrate, so I said "sure!" Well, damned if I didn't drive the car for almost half an hour ... and could NOT get it to make the noise.

Since then, the temp has dropped back down in the DC area... and sure enough the noise came back. Left the car at Pohanka overnight so they could drive it cold this morning.

Bottom line: both front axles getting replaced under warranty! Thanks again for the replies.
