Warranty and Accidents
As some of you know I was recently involved in an accident (see TL v. Deer thread).
https://acurazine.com/forums/car-parts-sale-361/short-shift-kits-104590/
So I had a quick question, if you are in an accident how will that affect your warranty? I could possiblely seeing them say "well, this is not Acura's problem, this was caused by your accident."

A properly repaired vehicle should not have any impact on the warranty.

This repair was done by a very good shop after the accident, they must have missed this part and will be fixing it with my insurance company paying for it. My point is that usually, they can tell and will not fix anything that can be blamed on the accident. Accidents happen, helps to have a good insurance policy with a top company that will stand behind you.

Impact will not void a warranty on the vehicle, unless the car is considered 'totalled.' A car with a salvage title will have the warranty cancelled by Acura-i see this quite often.
The only time impact damage causes a repair not to be covered is if the part itself is damaged, or if it is installed incorrectly.

Thanks Bluenote, guess I can stop worring about warranty problems if my transmission has problems down the road. Did you get your car fixed and great attitude repaired?

I agree with what has been said above... it only seems right... besides if somethign is wrong from the accident and the body shop didnt fix it properly, they will likely take care of it... if not your insurance company (assuming they are reputable) will take care of it

The attitude is ok now that Christmas is over (it brings out the worst in customers, IMHO) but the bumper will stay damaged for a while-I work in a bad part of town & I figure it's just a matter of time before it's damaged again.
