Wanted - Moderators

Why doesn’t the Moderator for this forum help diffuse some of the petty quarrels, personal conflicts and general mudslinging which occur on practically every thread? Not only does this juvenile behavior take away from the issues at hand, it discredits TL owners. Of the forums I have participated at, I have never seen it this bad.

Hop on over to the TSX forums, the G35 forums and most any other car forum. This place is pretty much as they are.

Agreed !!!

Action should be taken against those specific few a-holes who've earned themselves such reputations with a history of starting these kinds of crap.

this is a public forum, while I agree that re-posting (such as TL vs. G35, EddieXo's personal problems, EL 42 squbles, etc.) should be moderated a little bit more. Personally, I like it the way it is, it is much more open than other forums. You can always work around the stuff you don't like, I personally don't remember the last forum where I was able to use profanity without my thread or post being promptly erased, this forum is great! In a time when corporate and government censorship is running rampant (Clear Channel, Ashcroft, Disney/Miramax, Bush), I am glad that we have this forum the way it is. Thanks to the Mods!

Ya know, this forum used to prevent profanity as well. I thought it was broken. I thought the STICKY'S were broken as well.

Silly me.

For fun, look at the first two pages of threads on this site. Scan down the right columns and look at the page views of the more "emotional" posts. Now scan down the page views of the "intelligent and informative" posts.

The audience has voted. They like one far, far more than the other. Guess which one.

In the end, the online forum is a place for emotional and thought-provoking conversation and lively debate. The numbers don't lie. Some people like to take a week and read the book while others invest only 2 hours on the movie. This place is the 30 minute made-for-TV version and that's what makes it fun and a place to visit often.

TL drivers like excitement. A little sport mixed in with their luxury. No different here. You sure you didn't mean to buy an RL instead?

In my Opinion

There are a few people that come from left field and one can just wonder endlessly about "just where the hell did this joker come from" if one so chooses. I choose not to...

It's interesting how some of the craziest topics can nonetheless morph to worthwhile points of learning (not always the case). I've learned that some people will simply take an opposing perspective just for the hell of it, (devil's Advocate if you will) and while I allowed some of these to get me caught up in it, I don't anymore. :smackhead Boltjames is a good example. He likes to stir things up, he's intelligent and but will still be a pain in the butt to people for the sake of the game... IMO- Tis better to laugh from afar than to get all worked up over nothing... Just different strokes for different folks... Peace

You must keep in mind that not every post in every thread is read by us. Furthermore, we expect that the majority of people here are adults, and should be able to moderate themselves as such. However, when someone crosses the line, the best way to deal with them is to ignore their post. A troll only survives so long as people allow him to push their buttons. When you ignore them, they tend to go away rather quickly. However, when you feel that someone has violated the forum rules, your best course of action is to report the post, and not respond back to it
.

While the mods do monitor and participate in the threads, we cannot be here 24/7, nor read every post, so it is up to the members to help out by reporting forum rules violations.

I will let this thread remain open for others to see and comment, then it will be closed since it is not 3rd Gen related.

I sure didn't mean to buy an RL BJ.

The only reason I responded to this thread at all was because I recently got dragged into one of those idiotic pissing contests started by another user who has a clear history of attacking others on this forum with me being one of his latest victims.

I take pride in the fact that the internet exists making this forum available to share ideas, problems, and solutions with the both the car and Acura. Though I may not agree with some of the ideas and opinions expressed here in the forum, and even find some posts/users downright moronic, I keep my own personal opinions of these to myself. However, when 1 of these assholes kicks in with trying to make me look like a jerk, taking up and wasting my time over truely non-commonsensical BS just because he either has a small d|ck, a small brain, and/or daddy bought him the car and doesn't have to work for a living like most of us, the reason for threads like this emerging becomes pertinent. I have much better ways of spending my time efficiently on here learning and trying to contribute to the better of us all.

Everyone is entitled to express their opinions. I like a little excitement too once in a while, but the attacking and demeaning others in order to do so is stupid, childish, and at best, disparaging.

I for one don't mind the profanity. Especially when it fits. I loathe being censored. So, I say fuck it.

I can't stand when people take things personally and start mini-wars out of complete bullshit - crap that no one else cares about.

Otherwise, the forum kicks ass.

Majority of my posts? You've read 350 posts in an hour?

vtec187, by looking at all 36 of your posts I have come to the conclusion that you have not made any contributions of merit in your single-sentence replies that go something like "I know everything and you know nothing and I am right and you are wrong now stop polluting this forum".

its a public forum and people should be free to say what they want. if you don't like what people write ignore it and move on. pretty soon that person will just feel stupid when he is posting and no one is responding.

What kind of a wuss are you? You were the one who always ran and told Teacher, weren't you? Thank God the Mods here are made of tougher all-American free-speech stuff. For all I know they think I'm a complete asshole, but they are WAY above banning people and editing posts and all that parochial school nonsense. Welcome to the adult world, Mr. Racer-X. Learn to deal with other people.

"Victim?" Now you're a "victim?"

A jerk, yes. A victim, no!
You were asked about posting two different statements on the same subject (Bridgestones.)
You were asked certain things about the dealership that you "push" in every other note. You refuse to answer.

Part of your response was that I still live in NY, while I hate snow!!!! A really good argument, BTW.

Before you start with the name-calling, take a look in your two-bit phoney mirror!

Once an asshole, always an asshole. Thanks for helping me prove my point, asshole. The reputation you've earned yourself here in the forum speaks for itself!
