you can buy the factory leather seat covers (tim from honda acura world is a vendor here who might be able to get it for you) and get a quote from a local dealer, if they overcharge then I'd go to an upholster who does good work but wont charge as much as the dealer

I've actually been thinking about doing something like this for a while now. I have a WDP TL with the parchment interior but would love if it was possible to change it to ebony leather or do it the way you said with ebony vinyl edges and parchment center.
How much would cost to do something like this????

really old..... for the 05 model..... what happens is when u dont have the roof visor the air runs inbetween the headliner n frame n wind separates the headliner.......along the edges of the sunroof of the headliner they take doublesided tape triple up on it and stick it inbetween.....say goodbye to the noise n pull down of the headliner.....ill take a pic of what it looks like if ur confused

I had this done in my current car, couldn't be happier with how it came out and the quality of materials. I have reupholstered 3 cars so far. I have found that this site offers the BEST quality of materials.

http://www.leatherseats.com/

The leather is thick and the seams have a yield strength unlike any I've ever seen. With all of the custom work I had added to it, it ran me about $850.

Installation is relatively straightforward, but it takes a bit of 'play to get the seams to sit juuuuust right at the crease points in the OEM foam.

You can CERTAINLEY do it yourself, but you'll need patience and some strong hands as those hog rings can be VERY tricky at some points.

If you have any questions, let me know...I'm down in NJ, so I might be able to help you if you'd like!

yup 850 is what the sets go for but those always have to be adjusted......and for 850 its vinyl with leather inserts. on these acuras we take our time undo everything and stitch what the person wants...the right way without stretches and the seams on the right lines of the foam.

Yep, that's REAL custom work there. The $850 kit is real leather throughout, and you can get OEM fit with enough time and adjustment, but it's NEVER going to beat custom tailoring as Trip is claiming to provide.

dragon yes..... black thats 850 for one of those kits......they actually suck....but if ur car doesnt have leather and u want them in they are ok we've been doing them for yeeeaaarrss but always have to fill with foam at the end. We cut the parts of leather out that u want modified and sew new ones into place... same with suede alcantara whatever u wanna call it

How did that work out with the side air bags and all? I've been to there website, and apparently they don't have a drop-down option for Accord with side air bags. Why not?

Yes it does. If you buy leather that isn't designed to rip and tear away from an airbag, you not only have the risk of losing your life, but also the airbags won't deploy properly.

You need to have leather that is designed to tear away in the event of a side-impact crash.

ummmmm no..... its all the same I have more than 200 seats come in weekly to my shop for airbag replacements from all the dealers because peoples bags deployed. there no such thing as "special airbag leather" or "special airbag stitching"... the airbag deploys at over 200mph... show me a piece of string or fabric thats holding any seat together that can withstand that kind of blow from the inside of the seat and I'll be more than amazed. The airbag is positioned in a specific way under the material to blow that shit wide open.

sorry about the rip....so are you using double sided tape to hold the liner up there or velcro of a different type than that of the factory....i am thinking of going with a different type of velcro....

how did you remove the 3 old squares of velcro that the factory has in there....

thanks
