The wait for the perfect TL is unbearable

I looked at a bunch of different TL's and TL-Ss and when I decided on what I wanted, I stuck to it. It's unpleasant to have to sit and wait but getting your car the way you want it is much better than getting a car and forever after thinking to yourself "nice, but I wish it was just X color" etc.
I ended up going to Acura's website and finding a list of every acura dealer within 300 miles of me. Found a sales rep from each dealer and sent out a single mass email stating what I want and EXACTLY how I wanted it. No compromising and no settling. Plus it gets some of the sales reps in a motivated rut when they see they have a competitor for my money.
Hope this helps.

I just happened to come across mine on Craigslist. It's an 04 WDP with 98,000 miles, inside and out it's mint with 18" gunmetal Aspec wheels. Has the tan leather but no navi. I wouldn't have minded the navi, but I wasn't set on it. Since the navi would have already been 8 years old, using my cell I was just as happy with. Only paid $11,800 after a little negotiating :0)

If I were you I'd look elsewhere with a a budget of $12,000. Your probably gonna have to replace something on a 04-05 TL with ridiculous miles on it in your price range...it just doesn't seem like Acura fits your bill, no offense.
Not to mention you have to put premium in our babies & the price of gas this summer is only heading north, with 18-28mpg![Tomato](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/tomato.gif)
Ohh & sales tax / interest / plate swap fees / other misc. fee's dealers like to slap you with will bring you well over your budget..

Going from a Mazda6 to this, I wasn't going to be picky. My husband has a Tahoe that is loaded, and this is the grocery getter. As for some, I'm not a technology geek, and was completely happy to just finally a TL. For me personally the navi was not a selling point. I've read here myself of people not being happy with the older "technology", either way it did not sway my decision. Btw, with the screen name, you couldn't tell I'm not a "bro".

Pics to come, but since I'm a "newbie" I can't for a certain amount of time, sucks yea, but they will come. Ones around here with that mileage and not nearly as clean are going for around 15K.

Got one! proudly writing something on here as an Acura owner.
Had been driving chevy since I was 16, until I became a proud 3rd gen tl owner a few weeks ago. I had been looking online for about 2-3 months, mostly at Toyotas and Hondas but Acuras have always seemed to stick out. There was a few (TLs) that I was tempted purchase but I held off and was glad I did when I walked up on a (mine) grey 07 tl at my banks annual car sale (just a bunch of invited dealerships...but a super low int rate for buying there...boom). She had 53k miles, full service at 50k, 1 owner, never wrecked, and some new kumhos. The appearance of the 3rd gen TL is the best in my opinion, and the fact that the previous owner put only about 9000 miles on it a year sold me. Drove it around the block, came back and bought er. It took some time but it was worth it. Best advice I could give would be to make sure you look at everything out there or try to. The pickier you are with a purchase like this, the happier you'll be in the end.
