Wait for New Model TL or Mod current one?

Hey guys. Need some help. I currently have an 05 6mt aspec TL. I was considering getting the SC for it but now I'm thinking of holding off until the 09' TL comes out? What do you think?

Thanks

You're crazy to put that blower on.

1) It doesn't appear to be all that reliable... See the threads below.

2) Torque steer on my TL is already crazy, I can't imagine what 300+ HP is like.

There's no gaurantee the 09's are gonna be in the 300's either...

I say, if you're that power hungry, dump the TL for a RWD/AWD car with a lot of horses out the gate...

G35 coupe, STI subi (yuck), EVO (double yuck)...

Thanks for the answer. I want an all around car. I have heard that the new G35 is a nice step up. But I love my TL. Just getting some opnions.

I only heard of one issue with the supercharged TL. And it was minor, brklnpanman had a fuel regulator issue and it was easily corrected. That is the only issue that I heard of. Guide me to the post that says that they are unreliable or any problems please!

Maybe you should ask about the 09's closer to it coming out. Lets say not 3 years away......there will be so many changes by then, no one honestly knows what the final project will be.

We're probably referenceing the same thread...

Considering I only know of 3 to 5 people on this forum with them... and all the press here doesn't seem to fare well for CompTech customer service.

Plus, $35K car plus another $5K for a blower = a lot nicer $40K car.

I would wait for the 5g TL in 2017. That will be the perfect one to mod, it will be so sweet, and it will have a lot more horse power, just wait and see.

Actually, since the OP sounds like he/she might be willing to wait, a reliable source that works for Honda informed me that Honda and Toyota are working on the details of a merger deal that should be complete by the beginning of 2008. They will then release a relatively affordable halo vehicle (an oxymoron it seems) in 2015 that will be 6WD SH-AWD ver. 2.0 with all-wheel steer. A 1200 hp V16 is in the works to power this super sedan. Both companies agreed they want to take this horsepower war by the BALLS and run with it! And they plan to keep this vehicle in the mid-$50,000 price range. Amazing!

Please don't ask who my source is, I vowed to never release his name.

Sign me up. But only if it's a hybrid and gets 100 mpg as gas prices will likely be more expensive than bottled water.

Believe it or not, Toyota is targeting 100 mpg for the next generation Prius (switching from nickel metal hydride to lithium ion batteries and host of other changes).

Pele 96 - Check out the 07 G35. It will be out in Nov 2006. It will have over 300 hp, comes in either RWD or AWD if you have snowy conditions, and has a whole bunch of other really cool features. It should perform as well as a supercharged TL but w/o all the torque steer and with full factory warranty to boot.
