Wait for 05 TL?
Since I have waited so long now to get an 04 TL, I wonder if it might be better to wait for the 05’s. I few questions for comment.
•When do you think acura will stop new production on the 04 and switch to the 05 (July?)
•What new features/improvements are realistic for the 05 (MP3 support, AWD)?
•Do you think there will be any 04’s left on the lots to get model year end deals?
Thanks

If you are looking for 04 Nav model, I doubt that you will have a whole lot to choose from toward June/July. Many here seems to believe that no major features will be introduced for the 05 model.

My thoughts are some color combo changes only in regards to any 2005 updates to the TL. There will be no sweeping changes to the interior or exterior or no major software upgrades. Hopefully, 2004 tech problems (tires, seat memory software, vibrations) will be addressed and resolved by the time the '05's roll off.

I agree you should wait till 2005, by then maybe they will have the 1500rpm vibration worked out (but I would not count on it based on the year and a half running on the same issue on the MDX).
Tires should be fixed by then (or shortly) as are starting to trickle in now.
Seat memory should be worked out by then, but who knows, as they are only in the beta stage with some cars being tested with replacements.
maybe they will also make improvments to the bumpers (as a result of the IIHS testing this week.

Since the new RL is expected to be a hybrid and there's definitely going to be an Accord V6 hybrid for '05 not to mention the rising gas prices......
What would be the next logical step? The TL Hybrid of course.
I think by mid-'05 or '06 once they've got all the production kinks ironed out and the components suppliers can deliver.
Do you want to wait at least another year?

I expect lots of changes and fixes. About rough idle...I doubt it.....it has been there since 99 TL's. I was hoping it was fixed by now....they have tried, but keep failing. The 04 TL has a comprehensive engine and tranns. mount system. If you don't want rough idle, best suggestion is 6MT.
I expect new card keyless entry with no key. I expect many electrical tweaks. let's see what comes out.

Of course there shouldn't be major changes, but you never know. BTW the 99 TL had just been redesign....just like the 04 TL is.

Ok, here is the scenario
I am looking to buy a 04 TL
After I purchase it they will announce the following for 05:
Being released earlier than Sept
Will sell cheaper than the 04
Will be intelligent awd
will include i-vtec
10 more ponies and 20 more torque
Folding mirrors
Smard Card keyless entry/ ignition
Higher quality seats
All problems fixed
Back up camera standard
...... and so on
Count on it, just my luck

One question no one addressed was:
Doe anyone know when the 05 TLs will go into production. My guess is July, but NLT than first of August.
I am trying to wait for an 05...I want NAV but not at MSRP and I also want white with ebony interior (wishfull thinking???).
Does anyone know when production starts on the 05???
