VIS Hood, legit deal?
Well long story short is my hood was damaged by someone (during the night at some point) and now have scratches about a foot long in 1 section, a dent about 4 inches in diameter in another and a scuffed and dented middle portion of my hood. Got an estimate of $600 for repair (which is high) and found a VIS carbon fiber hood on ebay for $665. Does this deal look legit:

Any help would be appreciated!!!

This alone would make me nervous
All parts must be prepped and installed by a professional body shop that has experience working with fiberglass car parts including but not limited to cutting, filling, sanding, and shaving.
Tells me it might not fit dead on.

Go to 7LAutosports & ask for Jerry about this. He quoted me $600+shipping for it over VIS' MSRP of $900.

Much appreciated!!! Will stay away from ebay on this one just for the piece of mind. I probably am going to end up ordering through www.xcarbonfiber.com
Thanks again for the quick responses!

VIS wanted about $900 shipped.... i found it on ebay, for the EXACT price you see there.... I mentioned it to a guy on the phone (coincidentally named Jerry)
I told him who was selling it (some company named aerosport something) and he said that they are a legit company, who buys the hoods from VIS directly...
So, he matched the price...
I am almost positive, i paid about $660-$665 shipped (it has to come by freight)

On Page 3, i mention something about having to have dremmel a hole in the hood. After i installed it, i spoke to Jerry @ VIS, and i believe he took a note about, and had the adjustments made... if not , be prepared to have to do what i show in the picture
Only one other person had the VIS hood... a guy down in NC.. i think his username was like 04DCTL or something

Blackura, thanks for the heads up on that. Hopefully they made the modification after you let them know about the issue. Would not be very happy to have to take a dremel to a brand new hood, but if its necessary obviously I will. Should be getting it delivered by mid- week of next and hope its a direct fitment! I ended up paying $715 after shipping, but because insurance wrote me a check the extra few bucks doesnt kill me.

carbon creations
i got into an accident as well and ended up getting the carbon creations hood. i thought it was going to be 2 tone like in the picture but its not, its just carbon fiber. but the quality of the weave is amazing, i still have yet to find any imperfections.
however, it doesnt sit perfectly over the front left fender and theres about a half inch gap. but at the same time, thats probably not the hoods fault because that was the side of the impact and the body shop did all they could do. and one plus that came out of it is that i have a short ram intake, and the gap is directly above the filter. at the right rpm, i can hear fresh air getting sucked in through it and it almost sorta a little bit sounds like i have a supercharger
overall, the carbon fiber hood is amazing and id highly recommend it, especially if you have NBP. it blends in nicely so you cant tell from far away but looks beautiful when the sun is at just the right angle. you may want to consider getting new hood dampers because the stock ones are far too strong for the weight of the cf hood. you dont have to because i havent and havent found any problems, but you can definitely feel the stress it puts on the hood when you open and close your hood. this could lead to cracks but im crossing my fingers
