Vinyl advice needed!!!

OK guys, Im a true novice with Vinyl but wanting to try it out, Ive got an 04 Base NBP TL and am wanting to do Gloss black and on the entire front grille. Ive seen DIYs for just the upper and lower moldings which looks good, but i want the whole thing to be gloss black, I've tried the AZ and Google search and just cant find it!

Also while I'm at it, I'm wanting to Get the rear License panel Vinyl as well, Don't know if it will work since the back up lights are in that panel as well. Any one tried that or know how it looks. I appreciate all your guys Expertise!

you're going to want to take off your front bumper, and remove all the individual pieces from the front grill that you want to wrap. wrap them all separate, so that the end result is a clean piece of work.

hair dryer, razor blade, and patience are the keys to getting the vinyl to adhere properly. clean the area with rubbing alcohol. wrap one piece at a time. heat, stretch, use your fingers to get around tough curves. it'll be a little daunting at first, but you'll get the hang of it pretty quickly. just take your time. don't rush through it or you'll have imperfections that will annoy you when you have it all put back together.

you can youtube or google helpful hints on how to do this most efficiently.

here is mine, stock.

and after vinyl

then i got bored of that, and went custom all together using mesh.

thanks. yes it's a VIS CF hood.

for the rear, remove all the trunk lining and you'll be able to access the rear garnish piece from the inside of the trunk. you'll have to use some force and push out the entire rear garnish section off the car. then you can take off the rear upper grill trim (held in by some phillips head screws) then just wrap it and put it back on.

Im wanting to do that whole piece not just the upper trim. just the only thing im worried about is the back up lights in that panel, if i wrap it can i cut out the openings for the lights then? I just dont know if that will work or not, or if that piece would be easier to just paint. Thanks again for the help

^i've been there. i tried doing that as well. it will not turn out the way you think it will in your head.

i've wrapped just about every part on my car and that entire rear piece is NOT something i would do. it's just a headache. can't turn out clean.

i would paint it, if anything. or just leave it as is for a little contrast.

Hey, I am also new to useing vinyl, I wraped my grill a few weeks ago and I was pretty happy with how it came out. Its forgiving to work with too, esp with a hair dryer. I just orderd an aspec lip so when I take the bumper off again to install it im going to take the vinyl off and plasti dip my grill. Its another option to consider if your unhappy with the vinyl.

^true, plasti dip rocks.

BUT keep in mind that plastidip black and vinyl black are 2 very different shades. the vinyl will match your NBP almost perfectly, but the plasti dip is dull/matte and won't blend well IMO.

I recently painted the rear garnish peice on the trunk. Its not very hard to do just take your time and tape off the back up lights. After you tape the lights off use the tape edge as a template to cut the vinyl.
