I've searched the threads and have seen this question a couple of times, but did not find the definitive answer.

Can someone tell me which parts of a 3rd Generation TL would have the VIN on them and where exactly it would be. I am looking at a couple of possible TLs for and each shows an accident on the carfax. Trying to figure out if any parts have been replaced.

I know the doors, hood and trunk should have the VIN...can't find the VIN on the fenders or front bumper on either car.

the VIN on the bumpers/exterior parts are on the inside of the respective part, a sticker that usually has to be cleaned off prior to reading.

 

The front bumper VIN is under the front black plastic cover that's over the radiator. Mine is on the passenger's side. The fender VINs are on the underside of the fenders (I believe) so it will be hard to see those.

 

Thanks...was wondering if they were on the fenders or not, since I couldn't find them.
