valentine one ?

alright speed demons, help me with this-
my valintine one is not working in this car. No power at all. I think the T-adapter is not hitting the contacts, the adapter cantacts are on the side and the power supply seem to be strait ahead. is this true? what adapter are you using?

I've found that the Valentine 1 T-adapter is REAL tricky to put in (compared with the older single power adapter). You really have to wiggle it in there.

ALSO check to see if you're plugged into the right side - one outlet is main and the other accessory.

I do have it plugged in to the right side. so yours is working? do I have to force it in further? I've try'd rotating it around with no avail.

for some reason it's a real pain in the arse -- never had this problem in other cars (and my last car was an Audi which was NOTORIOUS for crappy/shallow cig lighters).

I'm going the hardwire route when I get enough time (and daylight) to go that way...

Two suggestions.

1. Try using a different power cable.
2. Try plugging into the other power adapter (in the center console.)
This should help you find where the problem is.

Yeah, I found the central console to be not the most reliable, just because it is so deep and the V1 power adapter is so wide at the head. Oh well.

Mine works... although it's a bit sensitive. If I touch the connector, it sometimes gets disconnected.

Jam it in, it should make contact without damaging the plastic lid of the car.

Oh, final suggestion.
Go to RadioShack and get an extension cord for the power socket. That way the V1 power thing is not stuffed into that cramped space and the problem goes away.
