Used TL Type-S

Hey everyone-

First I just wanted to comment on how quality this forum is. I have been a member at Yotatech (forum for Toyota truck guys) and the members there have been invaluable in helping me out with my 4Runner. As I've been researching about Acura TLs I was looking for a forum that would be as helpful and knowledgeable about things as the members there. I checked out a few different ones and this is definitely it!

On to the question... I've been doing a lot of searching here, checking Blue Book values, looking at common issues, etc... I also have test driven a few different TLs and have settled on looking at the 2007 Type-S. Most of these in my area have around 45,000 miles and are going for around $25,000 for a non-certified model.

Well I found one that has everything I want, but it has 75,000 miles on it. It is going for $19,990 which as far as my research goes, is a pretty good deal. It's a California car, one owner. I haven't seen it in person yet, but from all the pictures it looks to be in pretty good shape. What do you all think? What things should I look for, and are the higher miles worth the lower price?

I bought my 07 a few weeks ago with 36K on the clock for 24,9.

Personally, I'd try to find something with a little bit less miles, but the price isn't terrible.

^Lower miles doesn't mean anything if the car was beat on and not maintained properly.

To the OP, if the car is a private sale, check to see if all maintenance was performed and documented, any accidents, general condition....if all that checks out and you're happy with the colour, condition and everything else, there's no reason not to pick it up.

Thanks for the replies... Just to add some more info, it's located at a high-end used car dealer. It has the automatic transmission. I was thinking if I could get out the door with license and fees for $20,000 then I'd be doing pretty good.

I just got mine last week, 2007 White DP with 32K miles, Type-S AT. It was listed at $24.7 and I got it down about 1500. Very clean car, not a scratch on it, all the wheels and tires were scuff free etc.

So what price would you guys consider to be fair for this TL-S w/ 75,000 miles? The $19,990 is lower than KBB and Edmunds TMV. What type of things could I use in order to get the price even lower?
