Does anyone know what would have to be done to replace stock 2005 tl tail lights with stock 2007 tail lights? I just like the look of the clear accents on the '07 instead of the solid red on the '05. I found plenty of oem and aftermarket sets on ebay and other places, but didn't want to buy because I wasn't sure if they would even work right (wiring, led's, etc.).

Welcome to the forums.
I deleted your other thread and moved this to the main 3G Forum, which is the correct place for it and where it will get more exposure.
If you have nothing to do while waiting for a reply, you can search through this forum, and also THE 3G GARAGE which has a wealth of useful information.

I just did this on my 07. It took about 2 hours. I Could've saved some time if I would've used pneumatin tools to take off the back tires. It's really easy. The bumper doesnt have to come all the way off, but it does need to be pulled away from the corners. good luck

It's pretty easy to do, just set aside a few hours to do it right.
Pull off your rear bumper, remove the bracket underneath the light that is holding it up, take the LED board off of your stock tail lights and put them on your new ones, and then reverse the process

I did this a couple nights ago. I expected the project to last me a couple hours, but for some gawd-awful reason it turned into a five hour ordeal. To add insult to injury, I forgot to add the foam seals protecting the LED panel and it's wiring on one fixture, and I forgot to bolt in the bottom bracket for the other. I'm anal, so I'm going to have to fix it so I can sleep well at night... lol
Just take your time, and pay attention to what you take apart and put together. And, please... do not follow my example by attempting this on little sleep.

hours?? what are you guys doing to your car,, 20 mins tops... loosen the four nuts from inside the trunk, with your knee put some pressure on the bumper to make it go down a little bit, pop out the light, switch over the led board, and then reverse order to put back in your done. what's all this taking the tire off and taking the bumper off nonsense?

I tried that, 'cause I was thinking the same thing. But it turned out my fixtures had a bracket screwed on the bottom that bolted to the car. I think things took me longer than most as I am not the most mechanically advanced, and I really didn't know what I was doing (I did not have internet access at the time to reference what I was doing). I wish I was able to do it your way. Since I forgot to do a couple things, maybe I'll try your way again. Thanks! Originally Posted by Liquidflex81

It took me hours as well. I'm a perfectionist when working on my car, I do everything slowly and carefully so I don't screw up anything. I would rather take more time to make sure it's done right than to fly through it and not do it correctly.

kind of off topic, but for those that did replace their 05 tailights with the 07 tailights..where did you get your 07 tailights from and how much was it?

I put the Type-S tails on my 05 last weekend, it took about three hours to do. If you watch the video in the 3G garage along with the OEM bumper removal instructions you can see how to remove the bumper very easy. You do not need to take the tires off and you do not need to take the bumper off all the way either. It is fairly simple. As others have mentioned don't forget all the foam seals. Their is a small one that lines the LED housing that you don't notice at first, make sure not to forget that one as well.

Definitely watch the rear bumper removal video...several times. It will come in handy. As previous posts have said though, it doesn't need to come all the way off. I swapped my stock 06 lights for type-s a ways back...first real mod to the car, and they look SO much better. Got mine from a dealer called Curry Acura (they have an ebay store too). I was working with just a couple socket wrenches, screwdrivers, and towels (and an inclined driveway because I don't have a lift...lol). It was kind of a bitch to get the LED board out of the stock lights once I got them off, but it all worked out. Patience and a couple beers along the way will do you good. Good luck!!

I too want to replace my 04's taillights with the 07s, but before I buy the new housing I want to make sure they will fit.
I'm pretty sure the part I want to buy is number 33 and 34 from http://www.acuraoemparts.com/delray/...All&vinsrch=no right?
I just think the taillights in the picture below would look hundreds of times better on my ABP TL

^33 & 34 are exactly what you will need. They will fit with no problems.
